It just occurred to me that the guardians each use a version of Zero’s weapons (Harpuia = saber, Fefnir = buster, Leviathan = javelin, and Phantom = boomerang shield)

Believe it or not, each of the Guardians are borrowing X’s skills from different games. X imbued them with his strengths in their field when they were created, then gave them all an insatiable warrior drive.

One of the more underrated Mega Man games IMO and one of my favorites. This game is such a challenge compared to the X series and it was fun to boot. Much love to Flameberger for taking the time to plan out this game and run it at AGDQ. Hope they get around to the sequels.

This game is my leviathan (no pun intended).I love the game. I love the story, characters, sprites, layouts, EVERYTHING. But.....I suck at it. I suck at it SO damn hard it's not even funny. I love Megaman games but these Zero games are just my Kryptonite for some reason. I can barely beat one or two of the bosses...when I can even get to them. Seeing it get annihilated here was so satisfying! Thanks for playing it/uploading it, AGDQ!!

True zero is really hard, but it's soooo satisfying when you are able to beat a boss (and like know the patterns) it's one of the only games I was able to get better instead of just capping at some point. It feels so nice to really see your progression. Each boss took me ages to figure out but damn being stubborn is really helpful in this game

Heres a tip: Learn the boss attacks practice reversals do one normal run a A rank or S rank run and a no damage run for each game by this i did the intro stage aztec falcon destroy train find the shuttle ocuppy factory and the retrieve data stage with no damage

Man, love this series. To be honest, one of my favorite things they added from the X series is the Dash wall-jump. It's just a neat animation that sends you at a really useful angle.

@@JonCom3dy combos in megaman zero is what attacks trigger immunity frames in enemies. How you can chain the first two saber swings into a charged blaster and then a charged boomerang shot for max damage before making the boss go invincible for a bit. Combos is basically how to max DPS by alternating and avoiding certain attacks as zero

A lot of Mega Man games are fun to play, but X6 & X7 are shit, X3 & X5 can be monotonous if you're going for everything without having the most efficient route planned out in advance, and I'm sure there are more bad (or just plain mediocre) Mega Man games that I'm forgetting. But, overall, yes, I do agree that Mega Man is an amazing franchise that helped shape gaming into the multi-billion dollar industry it is today.

Dude was already covering everything with his own commentating, at the times he wasn’t saying anything you could see it was self explanatory. Not only that Im sure most the people know how tough this game is normally, and the couch didn’t wana distract him. They saw he was already killing the gameplay, and commentating aspect, but they stepped in a couple times respectively. Dude was a beast, straight forward, and to the point, this game ain’t no joke to beat

No, not really, because for some reason you have to level up the weapons and lives don't regenerate after a game over, both of which make the game much harder than it needs to be. This was fixed in the later games thankfully, especially Zero 3.

Only complaint that i would have is lives. In my opinion, they should be infinite, so you wouldn't have to replay a level to get to the boss. Besides that, i don't mind leveling up weapons, it just adds a grindy element to the gameplay.

Levi Hackerman Even though he's a Copy of X, one can argue that he is still a perfect copy and the reason why his personality is different is due to not having gone through Dr. Light's centuries-long testing of his A.I. (which ensured the original X never became malevolent).

One thing about this make me giving up on it: You don't lose the process even if you die without extra life; the mission is just marked as failed, and you can't do it anymore. But the game continues anyway, new arc, new stage. And that's how I got the the last arc, when the enemies raid the base. It was hell, fighting them without any upgrade. Watching this give me some hope that I could win this game, one day, maybe.

I love this game. I wish they had kept all of the combat abilities in the other 3 sequels like the spin jump or whatever it's called. I know you can still have it using other Forms but it's still not the same. Awesome run, by the way. Never seen a speed run of this game and man...this was great.

+Linkenfant I think Kuribon played Z series games with a hori gamecube controller, using a GBA itself as a controller is also a viable option imo. I wasn't using a gameboy player though, I was on the Wii U VC version, using a Classic Controller Pro.

Yes, but you heard them say early in the game that skipping directly to Neo Arcadia, a category called any%, is more boring than finishing every mission, so they run this category and complete every mission instead.

Yeah that's exactly it. The RNG (which is what determines "random" events in the game) gets reset if I die. I use it there because unlike other parts of the game, I can not keep an RNG manipulation through Phantom's death sequence.

no I'm pretty sure they aren't narcissists but are objectively rating their speedrunning skills. The jump IS supposed to be impossible, but it isn't because of a certain trick they master. It's not narcissistic to say something that is actually true.
