YES, finally some more metal & rock representation for those who are different - the alternative community is enthralled and approves wholeheartedly!🖤🔥🩷 MEGARA would have deserved it last year at Benidorm already, but now it's their time to shine, and with this infectious energy and blazing stage presence they will outshine a lot of other artists under the banner of San Marino! 🇸🇲✨️ Usually not a country that is in my TOP 10, but now they are among my winners. This performance is setting the stage on fire, but it's also theatrical and artistic, and the aesthetics are a colourfully dark dream! Let's go, Megara !!!🖤🔥🩷 Of course this will qualify, especially considering Spain and masses of metalheads will be voting! And with an elevation of the already beautiful staging, a great placement in the grand final is absolutely possible for San Marino! What a huge step forward from last year!🇸🇲😈🇸🇲

There seem to be a few alt acts this year. Norway sent the folk metal group Gåte, Ireland are sending Bambie Thug and even Bashar Murad's potential song for Iceland, while mostly in a sort of alt-country style, has something of an industrial swagger to it (particularly in the rhythm section), given it was co-written with members of Hatari. I'll be honest I'm not sold on the verses for this but the chorus is big and will win people over.

Just a friendly reminder to all saying Baby Lasagna copied Kaarija because of puffy sleeves and headbanging in a squat position... The same thing goes here, they are having puffy magenta / pink sleeves and headbanging. You know why this is common? because headbanging was invented long before Kaarija's performance. It is so common in Metal / Rock / Punk performances. And Kaarija is not the first ever person to wear a puffly sleeves. Even I, as I am typing this, am wearing a shirt with puffy sleeves, lol.

Historically both 2024 and 2023 esc have had an artist that competed in last year’s Benidorm fest (22/23 Blanca and 23/24 Megara)🇪🇸
