I crocheted Christmas decorations - a wreath, snowflake and a book mark for everyone we gave presents to. Most received a small recycled balsa wood crate which had clementines in them. I filled them with shredded paper then with a set of crocheted cotton coasters, home made ginger biscuits and a selection of tea bags. So, 3 days on from Christmas and the consensus is that everyone loved our thoughtful (sustainable) gifts. The multitude of boxes of biscuits and chocolates we received were donated to our local food bank. We specifically asked for NO chocolate or chocolate biscuits which was disregarded.

Our grandparents taught us how to recycle, reuse and repurpose. There was no waste in those days as they could not afford to do so..../if they were lucky enough to afford wallpaper then the left overs were kept for covering books for school...even those whose children had grown contributed to neighbours children. If a garment was no longer useable, then the buttons etc. would be removed for recycling. Paper wrapings and string also got the same treatment! I do my best to recycle and reuse, its in the upbringing values.

Just wondering how veganism works in reality. If you cannot wear animal products like leather shoes or wool clothes, the only realistic replacements are plastics which are now one of the biggest polluters of developing countries.

And I still recycle, and watch my carbon footprint. This little piggy went reat reat reat, all the way into my stomach. Omg, we had this amazing vegan salad with the pork . It was like instead of french dressing, I had piglet dressing in my vegan salad... Life is so good. Who knows what is next for me. I have a good positive line on some panda meat. I'm thinking fried panda, with a nice mushroom truffle butter sauce. Oh I love meat/vegan mash ups
