I had to pause several times in amazement. These concepts are so rich and resonate so deeply. You do a great job at explaining as well. We have forgotten (or rather, been made to forget) the depth of the spiritual European traditions (btw this is coming from someone who has spent many years learning/practicing/teaching Eastern spirituality). We have a lot of reminiscing to do. So happy to have discovered your channel, I 'm learning so much from you.

I've been binging your videos for a few days. Might not mean much, but I've started drawing and writing again since I've started watching your videos and doing my own studies. My perspective has shifted a lot, seeing a lot of things I never had before. It's a pretty cool thing, having new life breathed into myself. I hope you're doing good, and I appreciate what you're doing.

Maybe Iardarmagin relates to Jord, the giantess mother of Thor. Her name means earth as well.
5 жыл бұрын
This is why I love to make videos like this and see people have a genuine interest and start to ponder about the subjects. That's a very good point indeed. If indeed it's the sort of Megin connected to Jord, and Jord behind Thor's mother, it reinforces Thor as the Norse deity of provider of Megin to Mankind, which might explain why he was worshipped/venerated/honoured so much. I'll make sure to include your commend on a future video when I talk about Thor. Thank you!

The animic and shamanic traditions of ancient Africa also refer to something that is behind all things, called Asé (reads Ashe). When someone is filled with "positive energy" generated from within themselves or through contact with nature, the person is said to be "with Ashé", which is similar to Megin's concept of video. Likewise, offerings of natural elements, such as herbs, stones and foods to the deities, called Orixás, are common, so that they can also receive their divine Ashé too! Congratulations on the excellent video and greetings from Brazil ;)

My name is Megan. This is the first I have heard of Megin although I know exactly what it is. Channeling energy is what I feel I came here to do. When I was Reiki attuned I realized that I have always been using my hands to direct energy. Name is powerful as I’m sure you know and I feel that we actually name ourselves by communicating who we are to our parents when we are in the Otherworld so that it can direct us on a soul level and let other souls know what we are all about. Also, thank you deeply for these videos. Your channel has helped me so much. 🐍

The pre-historic people believed that the spirits of the deceased ancestors remain inside the stone of the cave walls, where their descendants continued to live or prey. Later this idea was extended to the stone/brick house ovens and the gravestones. Palms-to-palms contact is a very intimate act of a physical contact with the ancestor and/or a deity. The "pat-a-cake" clapping game is a kind of cave-times training of the way children should communicate with the great parents after their death. :)

It seems that the Heka of the ancient Egyptians is another concept akin to Megin, Chi, etc. In fact, the sign for "Ka" is two upraised arms. Heka is both magical force as well as the personification of magical force- and his name literally means something like "master of Kas", the Ka being the vitality of a human or god, among other things.

The explanation of a bulk megin gift to gods via community ritual/celebration made me think of Dorothy winding up the dusty Tic-Toc in Return to Oz. In a mass scale, I guess. Big Tic-Toc. haha. Arith, hopefully I can thank you in person and give you my thanks for all your videos, but this one especially. I was just teaching my Sister about this reality in Megin last night before Imbolc. I too, look to linguistics and traditions around our Earth as you do for the same realities in different expressions. I feel I owe you lot, because you have given me much in life through your Kaunaz video and your Loki/Christian god video. I am now thankfully using the runes as another form of expressing and exchanging my energy to further create, destroy, and create my existence. It's funny. I always felt it was of a sharing relationship, so to speak, how I recieved energy and exerted it. For many years, I felt it wasn't always to be mine to use selfishly. I ask you if you fell the same? I am mixed nationalities; so the North Native American, Chinese, Germanic tribes traditions have always made sense in their traditions of expressing reality those ways you mentioned, especially martial arts and music/vibration. Again, tusen takk Arith!!!

Megin’ isn’t the “spiritual essence”, that called “hamingju or gifta/gæfa” „At maga(ði)” is a magical terminology used in the Fornaldr Sögur. For example “Rǫgnavald þáttr ⁊ Rauðs” has a heathen priest ‘empower a likeness of Thor’. However the art used was ‘blótskapr’ not giving his spirit essence. Wow, well explained, thank you very much. Neo paganism helped us to reconnect with the exchange of the essence through bread and wine (cakes & ale) offerings & ritual. I agree, the meaning of words are very lost through translations. Even through English is a universal language I have noticed that if I connect with the divine in my mother tongue which is Afrikaans, it awakens my roots which is a mix of Germanics and Mediteraneans. I have learned to allow the divine to take lead and guide me. Many of us from the new worlds have lost our identity but it survived in our languages. Many thanks for your educational messages, you are truly making a positive contribution to many ...

I don't know if this has been said, but I find it interesting you said that hands made/make someone an individual, which on a scientific level is true as well. No two fingerprints are the same, not even for identical twins. So if you include that in the definition of a hand print, you are 100% correct

Just to add a bit of context to the prior comment: it was not by spending a lot of time in the gym that Harald the Hard killed a lion in single combat to obtain his moukeitjomies (Thor’s Hammer Rank) rank as a Klima master; it was through the arduous practice of a martial art. It was not only in the East that such arts existed, but persecution by Judeochristians drove it underground- after all, it is based entirely upon Pagan metaphysics. There are echoes of it in some manuals, on which I found a bunch of YT videos several years ago titled Renaissance Martial Arts where the writings in early Renaissance MANUALS of combat written in Switzerland, England, and Germany showed holds, throws, knife fighting techniques, which are today taught by the US Army as “Combattives.” My son was in an elite Airborne Reconnaissance regiment at the time and when I showed him the videos, he was amazed that they are being taught today. Unfortunately, as guilt-conditioned, self-loathing Westerners, we were being taught that these techniques originated from JuJitSu, etc. You speak of Megin, which, yes, is an important concept- the WILLFUL accumulation and exercise of life force. What you omit, and the term is still in popular, profane use today in Finland, “sisu”, which is spoken of by the non-trained people as equivalent to what the Jews call “chutzpah” or what people in the West of the US call “grit.” Originally, and as we as healer-priests were taught it, Sisu properly would equate to “life force” like Ki in China, Prada in Indian tradition, or Chi in Japan. When we learn to See we See this as an electric blue energy coming sometimes from people, from other animals, but most often from certain nodes in the earth. So much you have not been exposed to. Go learn to SEE, then talk.

I find it interesting that in Christianity, the spiritual aspect of Christ within all and thru all believers can relate, also made me think of star wars.

Arith, it might be useful to go to the back country of Finland or to Karelia or Latvia to do some field research. You seem to hold the view that only in the East were the power centers of the body understood, when, in fact, the “iceman”, a Bronze Age hunter, who died about 6 millennia ago, was frozen into the Alpine glacier with the energy points tattooed onto his body. The ones where moxification had been applied corresponded with arthritic joints. So, here is what we today call “accupuncture,” which would not be written about in China for another 2,000 years, hinting at a global advanced culture. You also ignore or have not studied the system of ordr, known in Kilma (supposedly, ancient Klimakjeri could actually change the weather, hence the name). In this system, the energy center which you refer to below the navel was called midrordr. (My iPad will not make the hooked D...), meaning the middle point. There were 13 other cardinal points, which we learnt of in Tietajar. This culture was old, very old , with echoes in old rock carvings (hillristningar). Perhaps you should take a sabbatical from whatever university you teach at and go learn with a Finnish, Karelian, or Latvian shaman. They are waiting for you....

I was just wondering, if Megin can be given, can it be taken without our will or does it only work as give and take?

Man, I don't know if anyone notices this stuff, but like this video, not less than ten minutes ago, I advise people not to put all their faith in man, but in the spirit within, that is our true teacher, trusting in it.. the spirit will even take clues from others, put them together revealing the secret or truth or reality of what the spirit is trying to show us as individuals.. Then it's almost like iam purposely guided to people or things that confirm by these people or things to what the spirit is showing me.. As to say, your on the right path.. Anyone else notice this in their lives? It's pretty wild.

Megin as spirtual essense? Hakónar Saga mentions that those that worship ‘Thor’ use ‘signaði Þórs’, and drink while remaining silent as they are said to have faith in their own might and main (at trúa á mátt sinn ⁊ megin). This was in juxtaposition to those that worshipped Odin said to be boastful (not in a good way) with signaði Óðins. Note that Hakon retainer hid the worship of Christ by comparing it to men that held Thor sacred. I wonder why? The narrative of Thor vs Odin is one that is deep in the Skaldic history even survives in the Bergen inscriptions till now. “...Þórr þig þiggi, Óðinn þig eigi...” “Thor you accept, Odin you don’t” (compare Old Danish phasre ‘við eigi’ or ‘with not or with out...) How would you translate bæjarmagns? As House Spirit? No, it means a guy that is too big for a house. One of the best of the Fornaldr Saga narratives that disprove the idea that Late Icelandic magic can trace its etiology to 10-11th century narratives; Þórsteins þáttr blæjarmagns or bæjarbarn.

if you listen to a church bell in the background, it's an actual church. Sometimes I open my window and the sound comes in. That church rings its bells every 15min or so lol

You mention rock paintings of anthropomorphic figures. You show figures and mention hands and feet. But I also noticed that the figures were priapic, Is a topic about the male generative power too politically incorrect? In ritual and practice, the sexual force is incredibly powerful.

But how do archeologists know that foot engravings had spiritual meanings or is this fancy speculations? I'm a skeptic can't help it. "De-colonizing" is a process that is a misnomer, de-colonizing is essentially the same thing the Christian church did when it puts the Virgin Mary over other artifacts 'feet' or when it plopped a church on top of an older pagan sacred site. Decolonizing is a mental-colonizing process and it will have some quite ugly repercussions eventually but nobody will be held accountable.
