I have opposed this nonsense since it started, and it did not make me popular with my fellow physicians. Sex (not gender: nouns have gender; people are of a sex) is not "assigned at birth," it is DETERMINED by DNA at conception, nine months earlier, and the idea that surgery and cross-sex hormones alter sex is as laughable as the idea that chopping off one's arm, wearing a hook, and saying, "ARRRRRRGGG" makes one a pirate. When this began, and some of my colleagues began to support it, I told them, "It's like your mother told you: all fun and games until the lawsuits start." Thank God we're there. Go, Harmeet! Maybe we can save a few of these children.

My child went through this, and at first I was so scared, I had just gone through a divorce, she had attempted suicide (her therapist was clueless) and the fear that she was going to try again I went along with calling her a boys name and letting her dress like a boy. I started realizing something was not right and I pulled her out of school and signed her up to the state sponsored online school and she has dropped all this nonsense. She is very girly now and has a great boyfriend and is looking forward to motherhood! ❤ this is heartbreaking!

This book must be in every school library AND in every hospital waiting room.

Megyn, I am a 78 year old man and being treating for prostate cancer. 5 years ago I was put on LUPRON injections. The side effects are horrendous. As an adult that has lived a more than healthy productive life, I can cope. I can't imagine a young boy going through the side effects of a testerone blocker. I 'm happy to be alive due to LUPRON, any doctor that gives it to a young boy should lose the ability to harm others.

Why aren't Republican D.A.'s charging these adults with grooming? It's already a crime, simply enforce it!

Experimentation on people-medical, psychological, or social-is monstrous.

To influence a teenager to transition to opposite sex is child abuse, period! Any adult doing this should be sued and put in jail, including those evil doctors. People should have some basic common sense, when you are born in a certain way by god design, you CAN'T change it without harming your own health. Where were the parents of these kids? How can any parent watching their children doing such self harming transition without fighting it?! Parents have to take a firm stand to protect their children from those evils.

Geez Megyn, in my humble opinion this is Pulitzer Prize level reporting.

A double mastectomy at 16? According to the activists, these procedures are not being done on minors. Again, the thing that never happens is happening. 🙄

I'm not sure that anyone should be surprised by all this. Celebrate your sex, it's a gift no matter if you're male or female. Stop this insane social contagion.

I was married to a psyhcologist and as we would be driving around town, we would some times see a young man, looking homeless, wandering aimlessly around. My husband shared (in hindsight probably unethical) that that young man had gone through the "transition" surgery, as a very young person, to change from male to female. My husband had seen him/her as a patient in an attempt to help that young man to adjust to the fact that he felt he had made a huge mistake and had decided, after having his penis removed, that he really didn't want to be a girl and in fact was actually a boy. The young man was seriously messed up and unable to cope. After one therapy visit, the young man never returned to see my husband and we later heard he had committed suicide. It was so sad and at the time uncommon. Every time I hear people discussing transgender issues, especially in very young people, I flash back to the poor young man that made a mistake. SO sad and scary to see how this wave of transitioning has been growing and being supported by responsible adults!

SELFISH PARENTS who consumed with their personal issues. The greatest gift you can give your children is to love your spouse.

Thats a real shame because that girl Luka Hein girl is absolutely beautiful. It's hard to believe that they would do this to ANYONE. They ruined this poor girls life for the most part. This story is heartbreaking. What happened to an understanding of normative adolescent behavior, and protecting children from harm? I’m so glad to be retired from Pediatrics now. I could not roll over with gender affirming nonsense. Why can’t people just be people? There has always been a wide spectrum of expression in men and women. Career women, athletes, homemakers, pageant girls, truck drivers … and they can love men, women, both, or their cat. Men, too, are accepted as burly or metro. I have a disorder called Pudendal Neuralgia that I developed after my hysterectomy. While it is a rare occurrence, it is happening more and more as young people are lead into this cult of gender ideology! I am an admin of a FB group for PN, pudendal nerve entrapment and pelvic floor disorder, disorders than NO Dr tells you could happen when you mess with this area of the body! The group is largely comprised of woman aged 45-65 who received horrible OB/Gyn care (and men can get it too for multiple reasons) and now we are getting younger and younger people asking to joining us our group for information. Most of them have been damaged by the gender switch lie! I advise everyone to educate themselves on this condition, because it’s a nightmare with no current cure!! Why are we setting up young people to be medicalized in many ways for the rest of their life?!

I cut my hair to be a boy at 4 years old and wanted boy clothes. I can't imagine how I wouldn't be trans'd today.😢

To go on like the ones I've seen on YT, after having done such irreparable damage to their bodies due to the manipulation of activists, online g roomers, & the medical establishment while not being consumed with bitterness, remorse, & depression is an astounding testament to their resilience. I’m a psychiatrist nurse and we are trained to not affirm delusions. It’s the professionals that are delusional. This is so crazy. My GD was caught up in this. Thankfully she made her way through but it scared the shit out of me.

Even after all this time, it is hard to believe this is happening. It is sheer insanity.

I’m a nurse in maternal child nursing and we are forced to affirm or face loosing our job and our license. Luckily I have not encountered much of this in my career but I know it may be coming. I will say, we have known the effects of cross sex hormones in the medical world for a long time. These “side” effects are known.

Thank you for your work at reporting the inarguable truth. This stuff is complete insanity and terrifying.

In my 32 years as a therapist, the problem presented by the patient was rarely the actual problem causing the distress. The responsibility of the therapist is to facilitate the patient discovering the root of their distress and assisting in facilitating a remedy. But that is not the role of doctors or therapists today. Today the role is to declare what the problem is and promote a single remedy.

Thank you Luca for telling your story. This is where money takes over and our mental health crisis shines. What happened to asking the questions about molestation, abuse, changes in their home life and being bullied. They don't even rule out hormone imbalances. Any professional dealing with minors who goes directly to gender affirming care needs to be sued, period. And there is no excuse for allowing any school employee to suggest or point to gender transition, it is too far over any of their capabilities. Shame on our medical community for abusing our children and choosing money over a human beings welfare.

Imagine a person presenting to his/her doctor, "I'm certain I am diabetic," and the dictir nodding and responding, "Lets get you stated in insulin. " How is this transgender medical movement any different? Every person should hold the belief that experts can be wrong. Total uninformed trust in medical professionals is a huge mistake. Think, question, research, and most of all calm down, we have time to explore and investigate. Fear is our number one enemy.

I'm 75. When I was 25 and 5 months pregnant I went into labor. I was given 3 injections of male hormones to stop it. My baby was born one month later anyway. The hormones jumbled my emotions. I grew facial hair. My son survived so I'd do it again but damn.

What I never understand is we always hear about the potential suicide if these kids don't transition. No one ever seems to talk about the possibility of suicide after you've done the transition and there's no turning back the clock, after mutilation and removal of body parts, no orgasms no, children, yet it always seems to be the same talking points from the Right and Left.

Think of all the stupid and uninformed things we all thought as kids. Imagine your parents had let you act on those things, encouraged it even, some of which may have resulted in permanent consequences! Can you imagine? Now, even if parents do object custody of their kids is threatened. It feels like people have just lost their minds and all common sense. It's so easy for kids to go down this road and one of the most prominent authority figures, for many kids, is their primary care physician or pediatrician, who are pushing this too, no questions asked. The doctors who do object are threatened. This has essentially become a state enforced religion from the side of the political spectrum who always cry about "separation of church and state." We are being forced to genuflect at the altar of transgenderism or suffer the wrath.

And that is the long journey of becoming a fully functional adult, but not until around age 25! As a not too far-fetched digression to a tremendously serious subject, here is Lewis Carroll commenting in 1869 in his famous poem PHANTASMAGORIA, Canto V, how irresponsible it could be for wiser grown-ups to rely on the unpredictable, unstable, and immature choices of children: The Phantom shook his head and smiled. “Consult them? Not a bit! ’Twould be a job to drive one wild, To satisfy one single child- There’d be no end to it!”
