Bill Maher is simply not informed. And the likes of him should tell us a lot about our country. If by chance Trump were to survive the government attacks that are occurring and have yet to occur, and get elected he will still be fighting the same entities that he fought his first four years. Many of us know what the national security agencies have metastasized into and even though Trump is now more aware of the corruption, I doubt there is a little that he can do being reelected. Somewhere down the line the issue is going to have to be forced or we will be under a thumb worse than Russia ever was.

Trump came after him legally over nonsense. A lot of people will hold a grudge after that sort of thing. I suspect that the organization around Maher absorbed the cost and most of the time loss, converting the battle into a mere nuisance. I suppose, though, that the costs may have been mentioned in a contract negotiation and cost Maher some compensation. I have a hard time rationalizing Maher's grudge-holding even in a charitable universe of hypotheticals.

If you try and fail to embezzle millions of dollars from your employer, and the board of directors of the company fire you, should the boss rehire you to the same position because you didn't succeed in stealing from him the first time?
