I am a mechanical engineer with over 35 years experience. I enjoy your videos because they are not too clinical and perfect. They reflect how theory and practice don't always meet perfectly. Disappointing that you had to hacksaw the handle apart but that is how it is sometimes. Keep up the good work.

But the handle upgrade/brass bushing was a substantial improvement. I only wished for a true spinning grinding wheel without all the run out.

Wow, every time I watch 1 of your videos, I am amazed at how beautiful it looks in the end. I'm not surprised by it, because I've seen quite a few of your restorations, and your attention to detail is beyond reproach. Beautiful job, as always. By the way, tell your young assistant it was nice of her to appear in your video!

I have one of these grinders! Is in better condition than what you started with, but missing the guide that goes around the wheel unfortunately :/ I was uncertain about dismantling and not being able to get it back together but after seeing your excellent restoration, it has given me confidence I can do it. Thanks!

This guy loves polished gold-colored surfaces, but they aren't here. 😉 I enjoyed watching the video. Everything was done truly flawlessly. Even the handle has been repaired really perfectly. I believe that this master has become one of the best restorers. My respect from Russia to the Grand Master. 🏆

Pure genius, the best part is he saved the WOODEN knob! I wanted to see him restore the IXION tag. Otherwise, this helped with my addition of watching a guy restore rusty stuff....

There are lots of restoration videos out there but I find My mechanics, Tysy tube, odd tinkering, and mine Mekaniker as the most meticulous restoration channels ever. They make the restorations as good as possible, high-end finish better than the pristine condition of the given item, fresh from factory.

Nice vid. I have to say that while there are plenty of fake or dubious resto vids out there, this work seems legit. Very nice work in fact. Fair to say that the outcome is very likely much nicer than it would have been originally new. The downside of that is that I could not bring myself to use the renovated tools when looking this good. Also impressed with the heavy duty equipment I am getting glimpses of, this seems like a very well-equipped professional shop.

Wenn der Schleifstein getauscht wird, dann ist es exzellente Arbeit. Weil die Scheibe das Herzstück der Maschine ist. Alles drum herum sieht zwar super aus, dient aber nur um die Scheibe anzutreiben..

Agree that this was a beautiful restoration. I also would have dressed the wheel. I keep a little silicon carbide dressing stick next to my bench grinder at all times.

Such a great job. I see some guys that try to do this kind of work but cut corners and their projects don't even come close. This looks brand new, I just wish you would have replaced that grinding wheel. Other than that you do phenomenal work. Now I'm going to check out your other videos.
