Thank you for the wonderful videos! I would love to know the total number of man-hours put into all your projects! Logistically it boggles the mind to imagine that it's anything short of a four person team working tireless days in a fully professional workshop. But maybe that's just me imagining doing it at my own pace haha. Surely there must at least be a videography team. Anyway.. So grateful for content like this. I used to love watching the show How It's Made on TV, but they would always skip over like 90% of the steps. Here, you get it all, and without the long hours of tedium along the way. Top tier entertainment.

Too much original material replaced by new material to be called a restoration I suppose. What's the purpose of all these efforts, to build a fully functional cleaver or revive the glory of original cleaver?

did you watch the all video?
@ykc16888Күн бұрын
@@meinemechaniker thanks for the heart! Yes I did watch the whole video, but I have not watched your other video, apologies. The cleaver is now so shinny and new, there's no trace to know it is from the 1880s.

If this was really a Russian axe from 1916, there's a good chance it might have seen some, um... action in anger. Dunno' if the rest of us out here in viewer land can follow in your footsteps with a laser engraver, but I doubt we can follow in your footsteps in many of the other steps you've shown us, either! Awesome job! Oh .. one question: did you ever weigh the finished axe head?

anyone else notice that he messed up by adding a bolt to the body on the side with the hook? It's supposed to be a pin that can be removed so the vise can open to accommodate longer pipes.
@meinemechaniker9 күн бұрын
The person who wants it will not use the bolt he does not want. For a right or left handed person. You don't need to get excited.

OMG! I lose my lunch whenever I see or hear the name Richard Nixon. How about noting that 1971 was also the year of the large anti-war protests from May 3-5, which shut down Washington, DC with over 12,000 people arrested, the largest mass arrest in U.S. history. Anti-war protests warm my heart; Richard Nixon chills my bones.
