@@revoblam7975 The Heavens Ward (Including Ser Zephirin) were tempered. It was since arr they explain what’s tempering and primal etc.. I don’t get why people don’t get it. Every single one of the heavens ward had their own story and their own lives aside from being Thordan’s puppets. Ser Zephirin was titled as “The Just” because that’s what Ishgardian people saw him, but in truth he was tempered and a lot of things he did wasn’t by his choice. He even named his sword “Shattered heart” because his heart was shattered upon being controlled and losing his freedom.

I think you forget that the WOL canonically dies to a poison gas cloud before the timeline is changed in shadowbringers. So we aren’t unbeatable just crazy strong.

I feel the dragon's eye mechanic is what really made people struggle also the 1 hit kill from the drg

thats why its so sad that they have nerfed it even in the daily missions. this fight is too epic to make it such a shame xD

Nothing quite like the feeling of watching Heavenly Heel oneshot you through multiple cooldowns. Still my favorite ex primal. Such a fun fight.

there weren't many savage fights, in HW at least as I can't speak for other expansions, harder than thordan ex at the time

Pretty sure you get a bird for beating this fight. The Round Lanner that plays this theme and from what I can see from this photo glows a really neat purple as you ride around on it.

+ZeroDystopia Pretty much this. What I would say though is that the fight doesn't have particularly tight DPS checks (that I've seen), it's just a hugely mechanic heavy fight. That's the way it should be.

+Mekkah Dee I remember they said they made it that way specifically because there were so many complaints about 99% of Heavensward content being DPS checks.

+ZeroDystopia If you haven't got much farther than this video then you're in for a surprise on the last phase... 3 times lol. There is also technically a DPS check because there's an add that spawns with high hp on the final phase and you have to kill the boss before he spawns (makes the boss invincible while he charges up a raid wipe); it is possible to kill him but it's not likely you'll have a full team unweakened at that point to do so. xD

+Chris James the fight still have some (pretty much for every phase) good dps check :P You can avoid the heavenly heel with enought dps; so you will take less damage for how lower you bring Ser Zepherine (sacred cross), the two paladin have to die asap cause the tank can't deal with more than 2 tankbusters and right after that meteors (the top of the dps check in the fight)

+Daniel Ratcliffe I use PLD for this fight I only use Hallowed Ground during the wombo combo. During the knight phase If I get the sword oath first I pop sentinel and Sheltron before he gets it off getting me a block on the initial hit the when divine right (if my add isn't already downed by they then) as soon as the first dragoon jump lands I pop Rampart so that I can mitigate holy before the next tank buster and also so I'll have it ready way before the next heavenly heel.

Half way through the fight I realized that I was fighting knights of the round. Because the red cape gave it away. I kinda freaked out in a good way, it just made the fight so much better!

@metalfaust19 I love heavensward so much ❤️❤️ I can't say it my favorite expansion because I haven't played the other two yet, just finished the Alexander raid I have left is heavensward part 2 and then I am in stormblood, but I got to say this it will be tough to top heavensward in my eyes since it really raise the bar of it storytelling I love it like so much it because my favorite story in gaming

Tbf heroes was a given for one of the thordan phases and heavenward really fit the second one imo due to the music picking up at the same point in time DoTH starts

Thordan is considered by many one of the best fights in FFXIV. It is so very well designed, it's challenging and doesn't have the cheap factor that the Alexander Gordias fight had. Music is on point, the design for both the Heavensward Knights and Thordan is superb.
