Nick will never change, he only wants to entertain the crowd, have some fun while earning some money. It’s why the crowds love to watch him. He doesn’t care about winning grand slams and tournaments. There’s enough tennis players on tour who take the sport very very seriously, so there’s room for someone like Nick. People need to get over it and realize that’s just who Nick is as a player and person.
@buffgarfield3231

He has a talent he can make bank off of but he doesn't have the work ethic or desire to maximize it. He just wants to live comfortably and make more than he would at a 9/5 and see the whole world while doing it. I mean look at Andy Murray. Becoming number 1 cost him his hip. Nick could burn from both ends too if he wanted to, but he doesn't care about being the best.

With Nick, its self sabotage. He pretends he doesn't care so that if he loses he can pretend it's because he doesn't have a coach and take it seriously. It's a means of self protection actually, because if he takes it seriously and loses, he can't handle it so this way he has an excuse if he loses.

@Bhaise

@@Sammy-il1qf that could be part of it and it could also be that he doesn’t seriously care about being number 1. Think about it: At your job, or your school, are you the highest paid person/number 1 student in the entire school? Probably not right? You’d have to sacrifice so much time and effort to even come close to that, and for some, it’s just not worth it. Trying to win a grand slam would be more like being #1 student in the world, which is even more unrealistic. Idk why everyone expects every player to be the same type of player as the big 3; some are fine just playing pro tennis and getting paid

@@robloxmaverick77 Everyone in Australia knows he is a cad and a heel. Douche bag comments about his mate getting laid; bragging about his ratings. For someone who made it a point that tennis wasn't his life or career goal, I find it phony to see him high-five the world. We need role models, professionals, and humble athletes. Not hysterical divas, like his now best friend, Djokovic. Sorry mate, but I'm old school. Stay safe and healthy. Big hug.

This is the worst crowd I ever seen. No respect for the opposing teams. One sided Homers. I thought AO is supposed to one of the best slam. Not judging by this. Making a mockery out of opposing players. Absolutely disgrace and shame on Australia.

@@romantatts1864 Davis cup you are playing for your country. It's expected and tradition. But this isn't DC. You should cheer for your own country's team but this is too much. Tennis is a gentleman's game. Show some respect and cheer on both teams for their skills and effort.

@@deliciano1294 Your answer is nonsense !! You cry about disrespectful crowd behaviour .... I remember Davis Cup crowds , particularly around Europe & S. America who carry on like crazy idiots for the whole fixture !! Then you say that's OK , & then say that people should respect 🤣 .... You have no idea what you are talking about 🤣. No excuses for nationalistic BS !! That's hypocrisy . Crowds should either respect the players or not ..... ? The big mouths at Melb. are only a few dozen , not the whole idiot crowd from a Davis Cup fixture where they let all the animals loose 🤣
