Can you imagine the political uproar if Melania Trump wore that jacket to a 9/11 memorial, or a Holocaust museum? then tried brushing it off as 'just a jacket'. It would completely wreck Trump's chances of a second term, while a non too subtle declaration of total indifference to the suffering of immigrant children is obviously the kind of 'tough on migrants' rhetoric the vast majority of Trump supporters want to hear from this current administration.
