This song is truly beautiful but devastating at the same time, to those who don’t know, this song is about losing someone in the family from something like a terminal illness like cancer or something along those lines, very depressing, i would have loved to hear it live

This song is so beautifully tragic. The references to the Hiroshima bombings makes it so much more painful, yet the reassurances from the speaker in the song make it feel like things can still be alright. Melanie is such a genius ❤
