I like Melanie, but she isn't soulful. Her voice is very unique and beautiful but it isn't soulful, as an artist like Amy Winehouse is soulful.

+Steve Hitler she's soulful, in a different way. Her style is far from any artist, let alone Amy, but I could see why you say she isn't.

+Steve Hitler everyone has different opinions. Personally the sweetness in her voice just makes every song sound more innocent but deeper if you know what I mean. I agree her voice is different but to I also agree her voice is incredibly soulful. Especially when she's happy and dancing around on stage like in some of her crybaby performances. 😌

What are the odds that I lived for her during my emo days when I watched The Voice. And now, I'm into alternative music, love this song so much, and am a Crybaby. Her music is so amazing. Cutesy sound with dark meaning. Similar to 21 Pilots style. Upbeat with depressing lyrics. Absolutely amazing cover.

She sings it good but I've seen three different videos of her (seven nation army, cough syrup, and toxic) and she lacks the power in these songs. Toxic was the one that fit her the most but the others, you could tell, were a bit difficult for her. Props to her for never backing down and giving it her all. She's still amazing and I love her to death. It's just my honest opinion about it. I love her style though. Cry baby is an album my friend randomly showed me and I haven't gone a day without listening to it since!

Its cause the voice votes for people that have the typical voices.. Voices that we're used to... Thats why labels snatched her up when she got voted off of this lol they saw her talents and how different she was :3

It's because she's a great studio artist, but her voice is NOT strong at all in a live environment. She sounded just like this at ACL Festival in Austin this month and a few other times I've seen her. Live environment isn't suited for her voice, but she makes great albums.

i love melanie, dont get me wrong. but she has a very interesting voice that doesnt work with many songs. it isnt strong, or powerful. but for her songs, its just right. im just saying i get why she got eliminated.

Yeah, I agree. I love her- I just discovered her about four months ago? Maybe five. But I can tell that though her voice is very interesting in a very mysterious and hypnotic way, some of the songs that she hose on The Voice didn't fit her voice, or her style. The songs that fit her were Toxic and Bulletproof. But I think it's because she put her twitst to it. Which is a dark, mysterious, hypnotic yet oddly cheerful and maybe even buoyant quality that leaves us breathless evey time :)
