Gotta disagree... not so much with the general sentiment, but the vocal track is too quiet in this song. Got some Nelly Furtado recommend to the right ----> Mixed much better. So is pretty much every Shania Twain and Alanis Morisette song. Still far better than a lot of the crap out today where can hardly pick out a word they mumble out with the extreme use of autotune to the point where... ok, it's the right pitch but you don't even know what word they're singing anymore because it's so warped.

Melanie C has a beautiful silky voice, Left-Eye had her flow. Both Mel C and Left-Eye actually sound unique, like nobody else. This song is one of the best and most iconic songs ever and the video is elegantly sophisticated. Late 90's and early 00's was the best era for music.

The first time I heard this song, I never thought music sounded so sweet and heavenly. And it was those pre-digital days, when you had to rely on mass media to determine when you hear it again....people will know what that feeling was like.

There seemed to be a specific production style in 1999 and I absolutely loved it! It was very RnB driven (like this one) and many had the signature powdery soft keys 😍 You can see it in songs like "Two In A Million" by S Club, "Born To Make You Happy" by Britney and "U Know What's Up" by Donell Jones etc - sounded so nice 👌

This song and "i turn to you" both gives me a strange romantic nostalgic feeling. Like they remind me of my exes. Makes me feel happy and sad at the very same time. Then realizing im so far from my teen years and the feeling gets stronger every passing year. Strangely beautiful cloud of emotions from Melanie c music.

I have similar feelings. It was the first time at the disco when i asked the girl i like to dance and it was this song playing, so it takes a special place in my heart and when i listen to it it returns those romantic feelings with a touch of sadness

I was a child when i heard this music and was my favorite but I went through alot growing up with my aunt and this music use to give me courage like the suitation will change one day and indeed it is now praise God I just feel sad and lonely when listening to it now like childhood sick feeling

I remember hearing this in the school bus after we came from a swimming lesson when i was like 10, i was sitting alone, kinda loner and preferred, still remember it because i liked this song a lot, it was so soothing, peaceful, i was in heaven... we speak 3 official languages in our country, english wasn't one of them, so I had no idea what she was saying. Music is truly international.
