So great to see both of you playing together at Loulé Jazz Festival last night!

Soooo, Good evening again from Chicago dear friend Pablo. The last time I communicated with you was during your investigation of Mr. McPherson!….. I grew and expanded as a composer as well as musician from such interviews……… so happy to have found you!! As an explorer canvassing this tundra called sound………. I’m always amazed at how, at the depths of information and knowledge……. we seems to find the crumpled path…… back to square one!!!…. Lol Seems it’s a wonderfully complicated journey to dissect simplicity???……. Perhaps reverse engineering and transcribing other pieces???? Never participated in that before? Once again Maestro…… and your dear guest……… have introduced me to new thinking!!! not only this CATACLYSMIC WONDER known as: MILISSA ALDANA…….. but …… since I’ve never heard her music….. by just LISTENING TO HER…… expound on the importance of collaboration……… 31:23 “ In the history of humanity, you need to be surrounded by people in order to grow…….. it’s going to influence the way you play….” In all my musical life…. I’ve practiced,composed, and recorded totally alone in my studio for decades………….. I know she’s completely right however……… having a vision of my work……… turning out as accurate and precise as perceived? …………I’ll just say…….. humans are very hard to trust…….. full of complexities…………yet…. we need them…….lol I remember reading that your father and mother were your initial mentors musically…………. And Ms. Aldana’s father also her initial influence……….. so I was hoping you would ask about that experience………. AND YOU DID!!! 21:37 “ To what extinct is it also that we may be in this music thing out of a need of approval of our father? As a single father. I hoped my only 24 year old son would also embrace music………… but he not only did not acknowledged a fondness ; he got deeply into a cult-like religion…….. moved away, and…… hasn’t spoken to me in 3 years…………. Soooo, How much, I wonder……. do I have to do with that disfunction?……..if children secretly admire their fathers,…. I’m always wondering… what failed?…………and how is all this effecting my music? How I wished my son and I could have had the relationship you and Ms.Aldana have maintained. Anyway, He knows that I am always here for him if he should need me. Ms. Aldana also said: 15:53 “ I think the energy that you bring into into the band has soooo much to do with the music. “ Again, I’ve not experienced that interaction yet with a band, or with an audience…….. but that soon may change as my chronic shyness comes under control and I expand my horizons. However, I’ve ALWAYS believed that positive vibes were the way to exist…….. …….. and …. who knows…….. maybe my well meant intentions result in a retroactive response in my dear son? Either way, our labor of love as composer’s will never go unrequited……… whether we bare witness to its fruit or not….. “enlightenment……… is inevitable!!!” Thanks again Pablo and Ms. Aldana for forging the trail … and lighting the way……… to this musical garden. Can’t wait to see you both when you tour Chicago!! Until then, Stay safe and in peace. RAIN 🕯
