Karumba Sunsets, Markets and Boat Cruises
Wow, wow, wow. I just love Karumba! Incredible sunsets over the Gulf of Carpentaria, the Sunday markets, the local business houses (especially Midnight Emporium - the most unique gift shop for an 800km radius!). The wonderful Sunset Tavern that showcases the best outdoor beer garden and sunsets, the wildlife, the fishing (not my thing but so many people love it!), the interesting industrial and war history, the sunset cruise out to the Sand Island… and the locals I met!
In this episode, I also give you a demo of the air conditioning in the MDC XT10E! Believe me, it’s a far cry from the cold evenings at Birdsville. The temperature may have said 28 degrees, but it felt a lot more like 35-36!
All I can say is watch this episode, and then go visit Karumba… it’s that good! I will be back, preferably in the wet season before they get locked in by the floodplains! It’s that special.
