In my early days of ministry, waaaaay before the Tubes of You, I used to frequent many events that surrounded the Mormon religion. Visiting the Mormon church (ward) is one of them. I visit places like this often for research, to avoid echo chambers, and to learn more about the religion. This is my third visit, and it was different than the other times. It was.... interesting.

Hey guys! In case it wasn't clear in the video: I love Mormons. I have made numerous videos about the LDS faith, and I am very clear about my fondness for them, even though I have sharp theological disagreements with them. The missionaries and I left on very friendly terms. I think some people think I should have just sat and listened to their perspective without challenging them, but that's why I went: to challenge them with the Biblical Gospel and ask thought provoking questions because of these differences. I find I always get very mixed responses on these types of videos, no matter how I approach it. That's okay. Not everyone has to agree. 🙂 However, though I don't regret being straightforward in this video, I do think there's a learning opportunity on my part to convey these experiences more effectively with my tone and demeanor. Here's quick access to some of the resources I mentioned in the video: Evidence Ministries: www.youtube.com/@EvidenceMinistries/videos Interview with Micah Wilder, former LDS: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l5xoaaictbq0ZoE.html Aaron Shafovaloff: www.youtube.com/@AaronShafovaloff1

Gosh I really love to listen to Melissa Dougherty speak. You are so skilled at speaking and you always seem to know the subject material fairly well. Many of us Catholics are waiting for you to do a presentation on our Most Holy Catholic Faith. I get the drift from many of the Catholics that make comments on your videos that we all feel that you are a person of integrity and that you have a great desire for getting at the Truth. There are many videos made of Catholicism from people that are outside of the Church and they are very careless in their approach to making Catholicism understood. To be honest, I have not seen one single presentation made by a non-Catholic that was not full of errors. We pray that you don't let us down. With that being said, you correctly state that the Mormons practice a "fake communion" because they use regular bread and water in their communion service. This seems to indicate to me that you believe that most other mainline denominations have legitimate communion services. Well NEWSFLASH MD...........all communion services done outside of the Catholic Church are "fake communions". Holy Communion is the sole purpose for the Incarnation of God, and for His Passion, Death and Resurrection. I hope that you, Melissa Dougherty, will conduct a sincere study on Holy Communion before you present your video to us. Only God can build His One Church, and in that One Church you will encounter Christ in the Supper of the Lamb, where the Bridegroom becomes One Flesh with His Bride. That is what unites us, just as you are united to your own parents by flesh and blood, so too in Holy Communion we enter into union with Christ - Flesh to flesh. That is authentic Communion, and can never be duplicated outside of the Catholic Church. Counterfeit communions are not life giving, therefore, Heaven will not be the destination for anyone that partakes of a fake communion. Jesus emphatically taught that we must eat His Flesh to receive eternal life, for He is the Bread that came down from Heaven. For He is the Lamb of God, sacrificed upon the Altar of the Cross, and made Present at each and every Mass so that we can know Him intimately, as a Bridegroom comes to know His Bride, uniting Flesh to flesh. I highly recommend that you study Brandt Pitre's book, "Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist: Unlocking the Secrets of the Last Supper" if you want to get this right. May God Bless you immensely as you journey along your own Road to Emmaus.

It took me a LONG time to understand the true gospel and what true Christianity is and undo all the incorrect teachings I had all my life. However, I am so VERY grateful for youtube channels like yours, Melissa, and others (Mike Winger, Apologia, Alisa Childers, etc.) that were so helpful in teaching me the correct gospel and help me along my path. If you ever want to talk about the church and more of their incorrect doctrines, I would love to chat with you.

@@rickdavis2235 my point is that whatever authority the scripture has, it is still mediated by an interpretation that is subject to err, which point is underscored by the passage you cited. So when anyone appeals to scripture to support their thesis they are merely appealing to their own interpretation and understanding that may or may not match the "Truth". So appealing to scripture is always as through a veil. Also, 2 Peter is a forged letter, so at the end of the day does this passage really help us get to the Truth? For that matter, how do we know the Bible is the inspired word of God in all it's parts, or even at all to begin with? Because unless we can be sure of that first, it is pointless to speak of it as an authority.

@@criticaloptimist7961 scripture interprets scripture. If you're believing something that doesn't reconcile with scripture, then it's not the book that's wrong, it's your interpretation. Scripture are the bumpers on the sides of the bowling alley that keep you from going into the gutter. There's a little room between the bumpers that you can move freely on, but you can't go into the gutter. The better we understand scripture, the tighter together those bumpers become and the more straight we walk along the path.

@@BrendonKing No, you interpret scripture. I agree in principle the better you understand something the easier it is to navigate confusion. But how do you know the Bible interprets itself? How do you know it doesnt just loosely fit together? If you follow that hermeneutical paradigm, how would you ever discern whether something in it isn't right? You a priori determined the Bible is inerrant, so no matter what you read you will make it fit, no matter what kind of mental gymnastics that requires. Again, how do you know the Bible is inerrant?

I really enjoyed watching this post, but found it a little hard to reconcile. I am what is commonly called a 'Inactive' Mormon, not an 'Ex-Mormon'. I have not actively participated in the LDS Church since college, almost 30yrs ago. Now that I have a 12yo daughter, my wife (Inactive Catholic) and I are having conversations about church more often. Growing up in the LDS Church, there was always more Bible study than Book of Mormon and/or Doctrine and Covenants. Recently went to Salt Lake City for volleyball tournament and after the morning games, did a temple visit. It had been 15yrs since last in SLC. While walking the grounds, 2 Missionaries introduced themselves and we started to talk about church, growing up LDS, being inactive, catholic spouse, and what church to raise my daughter in. The only scriptures shared were from the bible. There are plenty of questions about many different denominations and what church is best for you. My experience with LDS has always been Jesus is the Savior and died on the cross for all our sins. Hence why every Mormon payer ends with 'in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen'

each year, the Mormon church classrooms rotate their teachings between the bible, book of mormon, and doctrine and covenants. It just depends what year it is. I'm lifelong LDS. Maybe someone already said this, Joseph Smith did NOT write the Book of Mormon. he TRANSLATED it. And just like the Bible, it is composed of many different prophets who lived over centuries. It makes sense to me that he would send his word to the whole world, regardless of where they live or when. The Book of Mormon is a support to the Bible. It serves as a testament of Jesus Christ, a second witness of Jesus as our Savior and redeemer. It's on the title page. It does not present itself as "bible Plus". It presents itself as a support to and verification of the gospel as presented by Jesus Christ IN THE BIBLE. And we do read the bible. As a church, we rotate the focus of our scriptures study over a 4 year period. So every 1 in 4 years we focus on the new testament. Every 1 in four years we focus on the Old Testament. The other two years we focus on the Book of Mormon and more modern-day revelation. Of course, nothing stops an individual member from devising their own system of scripture study. But the church does provide this framework to assist members in organizing and focusing their studies over time. I absolutely love your attempt to understand various religions. But I think visiting three times over the course of ten years may not qualify any one person to present a religion to others. There are bound to be misunderstandings and misrepresentations with so little contact and study.

“In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. God sent a man, John the Baptist, to tell about the light so that everyone might believe because of his testimony. John himself was not the light; he was simply a witness to tell about the light. The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him. He came to his own people, and even they rejected him. But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn-not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God. So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. John testified about him when he shouted to the crowds, “This is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘Someone is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for he existed long before me.’” From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us. This was John’s testimony when the Jewish leaders sent priests and Temple assistants from Jerusalem to ask John, “Who are you?” He came right out and said, “I am not the Messiah.” “Well then, who are you?” they asked. “Are you Elijah?” “No,” he replied. “Are you the Prophet we are expecting?” “No.” “Then who are you? We need an answer for those who sent us. What do you have to say about yourself?” John replied in the words of the prophet Isaiah: “I am a voice shouting in the wilderness, ‘Clear the way for the Lord’s coming!’” Then the Pharisees who had been sent asked him, “If you aren’t the Messiah or Elijah or the Prophet, what right do you have to baptize?” John told them, “I baptize with water, but right here in the crowd is someone you do not recognize. Though his ministry follows mine, I’m not even worthy to be his slave and untie the straps of his sandal.” This encounter took place in Bethany, an area east of the Jordan River, where John was baptizing. The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! He is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘A man is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for he existed long before me.’ I did not recognize him as the Messiah, but I have been baptizing with water so that he might be revealed to Israel.” Then John testified, “I saw the Holy Spirit descending like a dove from heaven and resting upon him. I didn’t know he was the one, but when God sent me to baptize with water, he told me, ‘The one on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ I saw this happen to Jesus, so I testify that he is the Chosen One of God.”” ‭‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭34‬ ‭NLT‬‬ bible.com/bible/116/jhn.1.1-34.NLT

The temple veil represents the body of Christ. It was torn and destroyed when his body was torn and destroyed. But his body was restored in a glorious new form, the old testament law was fulfilled and a new law was given. Save with the temple. Protestant Christians misunderstand the LDS doctrine of faith with works. Mormons know that they can't earn their way to heaven and it's only through faith in Christ that we can be saved. The "works" part of the equation is that if you have faith in Christ, you naturally begin to emulate Him by doing good works. Service is a natural outgrowth of faith. If you don't "do works" or serve your fellow man, then your faith is dead and you're only left with belief.

Melissa, are you trained or educated clergy? If so, I'm not understanding how the condescending tone towards mormons and jehovah witnesses exemplifies Christ's love towards all people, believers and non. And to call people's worship (or mode of communion) "demonic" really just ices the cake that non-believers have baked for Christians. I was waiting for the ironic twist where you surprise the viewers that you actually do love your neighbors (including the mormons and jehovah witnesses). It's clear that you and a lot of people here don't agree with mormon worship, but this hurts everyone who tries to preach and live Christ's love. Good heavens.

Unfortunately, God has to work through imperfect beings, to bring to pass His gospel. To all who fight to bring down the church, which I know will never happen, just know God loves you. But perhaps, instead of trying to tear down another person's journey and search, just find what makes you a better person and stop tearing down others for the journey they have chosen. Melissa, this is pretty sad. All I saw and heard here were smirks and an unusual level of arrogance. It appears you feel you've given a successful review of a church to your subscribers by sharing a conversation you had with a 19 year old boy that somehow can't answer all your questions. You then make light of the individual for sharing a testimony of what he believes and then claim that he demanded you "submit" to it? I have my doubts. I'll need to see the tape on that one because it doesn't align with anything I've ever witnessed. In all, it's clearly not an honest assessment and it's tainted by an apparent 'go-to' move of reducing everything to just 'feelings'. I also found it interesting that one of the core complaints is "Mormons don't read the Bible enough" while simultaneously saying "It doesn't impress me when Mormons quote (read!) the Bible" (5:40). Where's the logic? Again, just not an honest assessment and that's unfortunate to your followers here. I'd challenge you to find someone in the building that's a little more experienced and sit down and record your conversation for us. I'd love to hear *that* conversation over a re-telling of a time you dunked on a 19 year old boy that believed enough in his message to leave his home and family for two years to tell people about it. I cringe a little to think of the kind of reviews you've given other church's. Maybe I misinterpreted the goal here though.

So when I saw the title and it was a women I was really excited to see another perspective, another Christian learning about my faith. So why am I sad and disappointed? Because it felt like you were trying to judge and argue and convince rather than learn. You don’t have to change your belief and I don’t have to change mine. If you really want a more accurate representation of the LDS church's beliefs on such core issues, I recommend talking to a church member who is far more knowledgeable about such topics, AND who is ready to have a discussion with you (Not just catching them off guard after church, and then giving yourself props for how you rattled them). I was practicing mormon for 28 years. I'm not sure where you got the idea that salvation is by grace, rather than by works, in Mormonism? In Mormonism, there's an imaginary bucket of "good works" that you need to fill, in order to achieve the highest kingdom in heaven. (Along with a checklist of temple ordinances that must be performed in order to be eligible for a "ticket" to that highest kingdom...and in order to be eligible for a "ticket" to the temple, you need to regularly contribute your 10% tithe to the $150+ billion Mormon coffer.) Yes, you are to regularly utilize God's grace and forgiveness (via the Atonement) to aid in your climb toward salvation, but you have to put in the work--an enigmatic, nebulous amount of work. You never know if you're good enough, or what "tier" you're currently at. There's Celestial, Terestial, Telestial kingdoms in heaven, then "outer darkness". At any given point, your righteousness level is at one of those 4 places. And you're always hoping that you're at the top one. This uncertainty can lead to a lot of anxiety over your ability to follow a righteous path, and a lot of spite and judgment towards those that don't follow that path, especially fellow members.

It has taken me 3 years to finally feel part of my new church community because it was so hard to get to know people in the church when you don't see the same people from week to week. You don't have that in the Mormon faith, which I think is one reason some people stay there (even when they start to question the theology). As for crying, a lot of people cry when sharing religious experiences with a friend, like having a prayer answered, or feeling that God has looked out for them or for family... friends. I also think the heart of the law is more important than the letter of the law. Things I think are weird about some of my fellow Christians is that they go to church wearing overly casual & often even immodest clothes. Interesting that they'll get all dressed up when going to a job interview, but considering all that God has done for us, and how much he loves us, we can't even show respect? Ha ha ha ha! Yes the full name of the church is a mouthful. That declaration the full name of the church must be used; is mostly targeted for publication purposes. The sentiment and intent behind our particularity for the full name to be used; is because there has been a long standing misconception among Protestant Christians that we worship Mormon, or Joseph Smith, or etc etc. *WE WORSHIP JESUS CHRIST*. We seek to declare His name. It’s His church. 2:53 Why? Why were you seeking the missionaries, specifically? 3:37 Most members have the full gospel library on their phone. Before they were available digitally; members would regularly carry their bibles and other works with them. There is a library in every building that provides bibles, Books of Mormon, images of gospel stories, images of Christ, etc. there are almost always hymnals in the chapel. We don’t view Sacrament meeting as Sunday school. That meeting service is usually held afterward. “Mormons”; or members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; do not adopt the cross; because we don’t worship the cross, we worship He Who Died on it for our sins. We want to emphasize the Savior’s resurrection, and the whole of Christ’s atonement. Not focus on His death to the exclusion of the entire miracle of the Atonement. 4:14 there are great variances among all Christendom as to the administration of communion. Maybe you could elaborate more on what you expect, and how you were disappointed by it? I feel like there is a shorthand I am missing here. We also serve rice Chex as sacrament bread if needed. Some people are gluten intolerant. 4:33 yes, in some parts of the world; clean water cannot be obtained. Sometimes the safest drinks for consumption are drinks like bottled juices and sodas. Also; please define “wine”. Wine at the time of Christ, the wine he personally would have partaken of is not the same thing as commercially available wine one might obtain in an American grocery store. The communion is emblematic of Christ’s body and blood. There is a difference between emblem and caricature. Again, maybe knowing your expectation can help to clear this up. 5:03 JW (I call them JDubs, with great affection.) tangent. You seem to displace your feelings about the Jehovah’s Witnesses onto our Sacrament. 5:10 Why not join us in prayer? We pray to God the Eternal Father in the Name of Jesus Christ. Why is this displeasing to you? It seems our prayers offend you in some way unspoken here. 5:40 we do not have paid clergy. Sacrament is our time to share our testimonies of Jesus Christ. It is our life experiences with the facts of the gospel. How we apply those truths, and how those truths change us. Again, I feel like you are seeking something here that is not being elaborated on? We study the Bible, the words of Jesus Christ in our Sunday school lessons. Did you attend the second meeting? Ten years ago there were three meetings as part of our Sunday worship service. I can elaborate more on these changes should you you like. 6:09 I do not know what you mean by which gospel, and which Jesus. There is Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God. Some of His other names are Jehovah or Yeshua. The gospel is the gospel of Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which man can be saved. Acts 4: 10-12

Hi, couple clarifications, the Book of Mormon was written by many different prophets just as the Bible was. Also the witnesses that saw the plates actual held and saw and never retracted their witness even though some didn't remain with the saints, here's their witnesses in their own words:The Testimony of Three Witnesses Be it known unto all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people, unto whom this work shall come: That we, through the grace of God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, have seen the plates which contain this record, which is a record of the people of Nephi, and also of the Lamanites, their brethren, and also of the people of Jared, who came from the tower of which hath been spoken. And we also know that they have been translated by the gift and power of God, for his voice hath declared it unto us; wherefore we know of a surety that the work is true. And we also testify that we have seen the engravings which are upon the plates; and they have been shown unto us by the power of God, and not of man. And we declare with words of soberness, that an angel of God came down from heaven, and he brought and laid before our eyes, that we beheld and saw the plates, and the engravings thereon; and we know that it is by the grace of God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, that we beheld and bear record that these things are true. And it is marvelous in our eyes. Nevertheless, the voice of the Lord commanded us that we should bear record of it; wherefore, to be obedient unto the commandments of God, we bear testimony of these things. And we know that if we are faithful in Christ, we shall rid our garments of the blood of all men, and be found spotless before the judgment-seat of Christ, and shall dwell with him eternally in the heavens. And the honor be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, which is one God. Amen. The Testimony of Eight Witnesses Be it known unto all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people, unto whom this work shall come: That Joseph Smith, Jun., the translator of this work, has shown unto us the plates of which hath been spoken, which have the appearance of gold; and as many of the leaves as the said Smith has translated we did handle with our hands; and we also saw the engravings thereon, all of which has the appearance of ancient work, and of curious workmanship. And this we bear record with words of soberness, that the said Smith has shown unto us, for we have seen and hefted, and know of a surety that the said Smith has got the plates of which we have spoken. And we give our names unto the world, to witness unto the world that which we have seen. And we lie not, God bearing witness of it. Christian Whitmer Jacob Whitmer Peter Whitmer, Jun. Good works are a (1) necessary condition, (2) not a sufficient condition, of our salvation. They are necessary because of God's covenant relationship with his people--those who enter in on the Gospel path of faith, repentance, baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost. Good works are NOT necessary because it is possible for works to bridge the gap between God's perfection and our sinfulness. That's not what good works do. But, having a willing heart to do the works of Christ makes it possible for HIS power to change us for the better. And we "show our faith by our works," as James 2:18 says The reason claiming "works doesn't save you" ACTUALLY DOESN'T excuse you from ordinances such as baptism and Communion is simply that doing that very short, relatively easy list of things (and it goes without saying) is NOT EVEN CLOSE to saying that one must never sin to be saved. And, in fact, Communion ("the sacrament," in LDS lingo) essentially publicly proclaims that you're NOT saved by works, on a weekly basis!!! As Jesus said: "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself" (John 7:17). That's the promise to those who do good.
@danielmeakin

No that is a promise to those who do His will. John 6:40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day. See also Romans 3:10-18

Participation in the sacrament is optional and meaningless to the non-member since it's a covenant renewal. Bread and water is used because the Lord revealed it's not necessary what the emblems are as long as it's done with focus on God (D&C 27). Water is simply easier and less messy. And bread is risen because the Lord rose after the last supper giving a bit of symbolism too. He has unleavened bread before he had risen. And leavened bread after he had risen.

Nothing wrong with radical obedience to Jesus, in fact this is something many churches lack sadly! The main thing is who is Jesus to you and who is YHWH, is He the One and Only God or one of a zillion, in the Bible God sets Himself up as not one of a zillion but the One and Only. This my friend is a salvation issue and I invite you to discern everything you’ve been taught through the lense of the Holy Bible. If Joseph Smith taught God was once a man created by another god, created by another god then this radically changes the entire narrative of the gospel, the Bible and Christianity. Believing Jesus visited America is not a salvation issue my friend, you can believe that and still be born-again, that’s a history issue, but if you truly subscribe to everything Joseph Smith taught and that the seniors in your church teach then you end up with a different gospel than the one Jesus and his disciples preached.

John 14:15 „If you love me keep my commandments.“ Do you keep all the commandments of God perfectly? How can you say you love God when you show contempt to him through your actions? You say „I took Jesus to be my saviour.“ That is good, but if you also rely on yourself then you have two saviours but only the Lord is saviour. Now when you say Jesus, who are you talking about? Is He the one true God? John 1:1-14 in the beginning was the word and the word was with god and the word was god and the word became flesh and dwelt among us. Jesus is the word. The word is God. But the LDS church doesn’t believe this. They believe he is the brother of Satan and of us. But he is not. He is creator not created. How can Jesus save you if you don’t know who He is? You did not put your faith in the true Jesus. Please read the Bible and then read the Mormon texts. They are not in harmony. Please study who Jesus is. Please repent of your self righteous religion and put your faith in Christ alone for only in Him is our hope found. Please put your faith in the true Jesus Christ. I love you.

You Go Girl!! I believe you were completely respectful in showing the two (younger) "elders" that there is more to think about than unquestioning following their church. I have been witnessing to a Mormon boss for going on 20 years. He comes from a third generation LDS family, been on two missions. Yet, when he sees that God is blessing me and my family but not so much his, he has more than a few questions how God blesses an apostate believer in Jesus Christ alone, "but not his people chosen to get Joseph's message". Aaron Shafovaloff, is absolutely fabulous in the message he puts out there, as are MRM ministries, Sandra Tanner, Mormon Coffee blog and others... I thank my boss for turning me on to (indirectly without his knowledge of course) these great respectful ministries with the LDS people in mind. First and foremost, when we witness to our Mormon friends, and the (younger) "elders" who come knocking on our doors. We must treat them with the same dignity and respect that the Jesus Christ we represent would reach out to them with. My Jesus would reach out to them in love just like he did to me before I knew him!

Your analogy of the imitation crab resonated with me. Whenever I go to a sushi restaurant and the menu says the roll has crab in it, I always have to ask if it’s real crab or that imitation crab mix. Another metaphor which may or may not help some people is that of the yellow brick road in the Wizard of Oz. When I took ERT (emergency response team) training at my old company, the course instructor emphasized the importance of ‘staying on the yellow brick road’. They shared how in the movie, if you notice, Dorothy and her friends always got into trouble when they strayed off the yellow brick road. I feel it’s similar with the Bible, the more we stick to what the Bible teaches, the less chance of us getting swayed by new teachings or leaders with clever words that tell you not to trust the Bible.

I fundamentally disagree with Mormonism but the one thing I think they are correct on (albeit for the wrong reason) is that you can not be saved by faith alone. Faith and works must be in lock step. For your faith to be true, it must be demonstrated with love. Jesus gave us two additional commandments: 1. Love thy God above all things. 2. Love thy neighbor as thyself. Love by definition, has to be demonstrated in these cases. You can not internalize it.

I just realized that my Catholic upbringing taught me the original version of "Jesus and the Word PLUS". In fact, the pope said that it was dangerous for anyone to think that they could have a personal relationship with Jesus without the intervention of the sacraments and the church. That may not be an exact quote but that was the essence of what he said. And as you said, holding salvation hostage.

To: @Gary Slavinsky Re: holding salvation hostage. Jesus and the Word PLUS obeying the word and living the word does not hold salvation hostage ~ not doing the things that Christ asks you to do makes you a hostage of sin ~ the sin of omission ~ the sin of disobedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel The true gospel is, among other things, the gospel of scripture, listening to the Holy Spirit, receiving revelation, the gospel of grace, having mercy on others, performing miracles, blessing and caring for others, of doing good, of doing your duty towards God and man, forgiving others and yourself, repenting of your sins, the gospel of faith, being patient, of enduring to the end, of obedience and sacrifice, of learning, of becoming more Christ-like, day by day, by following the example of Christ, and in short it is the gospel of living by every word that proceedeth forth from the mouth of God with faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Praise Jesus. The Church of Jesus Christ teaches that all religions have a portion of the truth. The Catholics were not wrong about everything. In this case, your upbringing was good to go. I am sure that they taught you many other important truths. .
