UPDATE: My membership site is now live!! Visit us here: members.enthusiasticbuddhist.... I can't wait to see you in there!
Hi everyone! I hope you’ve been enjoying my videos and that you’ve found them helpful, motivating and inspiring.
I'm really excited to let you know that I’ve been working on something behind the scenes that’s going to turn up the level on my teachings and give you EVEN MORE inspiring videos, tips and guidance to help you on your path.
I’m creating a new website to better organize my videos into relevant series such as Meditation, 'Buddhist Theory' and 'Everyday Buddhism' which will make things so much easier to find and follow. It will also be a member’s site for people who want to deepen their understanding of the Buddha’s teachings and take their practice to a whole new level.
All too often I see people still struggling to integrate the teachings into their lives, through lack of know-how and motivation. This is why I am creating a member’s site where I can guide and inspire you in applying the teachings. Through a variety of monthly content (videos, guided meditations and articles), as well as live hangouts with me and a forum, I’ll be offering you:
* Clarity in how to apply the Buddha’s teachings (I’ll be giving you super practical tips that can help you integrate the Buddha’s wisdom into your everyday life)
* In-depth teachings on meditation explaining the stages of a meditator’s path from beginner to awakening, so you know exactly where you are in terms of your own practice and what you need to do to take your practice to the next level
* Community: the opportunity to meet with like-minded practitioners from all around the world to help inspire and support you on this path
* Inspiration & clear instruction: concise teachings that motivate your practice and make you look forward to your next meditation session!
Putting the Buddha’s teachings into practice is something I’m extremely passionate about. When you know how to apply them and you know what progress in meditation really looks like, you will have everything you need to practice with confidence and see some real results.
If it sounds like what you need for your own development and practice, then you can sign up to my early bird mailing list here: eepurl.com/bek_Wn
I would love to help you on your journey in Buddhism with all the wonderful teachings I’ll be sharing in the member’s site. I hope to see you in there!
Best wishes
Mindah

Your channel has been such a great resource for me. You are a wonderful teacher so, I am looking forward to the member's site! And I love the idea of having a forum where members can chat and discuss buddhism. Also, I think a small monthly subscription fee is completely reasonable. My husband is a youtuber/blogger so, I know the costs and time that are associated with having a channel and blog. We are always in the red and make far less than what we put into it.

It wasn't mentioned in the video at all, but just to be clear, when you say that the website is for members, does that mean that you must have a Login to participate and/or does it mean that there is some kind of fee? I know that any website requires money to function, but I'm uncertain if this will be a site supported my membership fees or Ad revenue. Thanks ahead for any answers. ^_^

Mindah , I'd join if I had a job. You are a great advertisement for Buddhism. Not only cute, but brains as well. :)Here's a question, by the way. For those of use who come from a Christian tradition, we are used to looking up to a higher power to help us manage our lives. This is something, I don't wish to relinquish, as it gives me solace in times of strife. This concept of a relationship with a higher power is missing in Buddhism, isn't it. Do you think it is OK if I maintain my Christian faith whilst practising Buddhism as well?

***** Of course. The whole notion of defining yourself as "schizophrenic" makes an illusion that you are different than everyone else. It is just a label for the set of mental conditions you are experiencing. Everyone is experiencing some set of mental conditions or the other. But practice with a balance that is natural for you.

***** Mindah, I have watched a few of your videos and I liked the way your presented them. I have some important advice. It is very important that no money be made on the Dharma. Allowing donations is fine, but even such, the money must be used for causes directly related to the Dharma. Do not use the money on personal needs (such as food, clothing, etc.). If anything use the money for resources to spread Dharma or to donate to cease the suffering of others. It may not seem like a big deal, but it can be very dangerous for your own practice if you make money upon teaching of the Dharma.

This is very sad news. Only those willing or able to pay a fee can have things explained to them more clearly? I wonder if Buddha charged for his teachings. You had such a wonderful thing going on with this channel it makes me incredibly sad to recieve this news.

Avalokiteśvara, the Bodhisattva of Great Compassion sometimes called the "goddess of compassion", presumably does not ignore anyone’s cries or complaints or whispers or rants... _sooooo,_ can I get some love yo'? lol -I know you're probably thinking like this dude's a troll or something, but I'm not. I think I'm asking a perfectly honest and valid (and adorable) question, I don't know why people get so dismissive when confronted with a controversial issue. -What if you get like *super* famous one day and some kid asks you my question in the audience? And he goes, "Venerable Mindah-Lee Kumar (or something like that, I dunno', I'm tryin' here) -anyway ..Venerable Mindah, was Buddha a black man?" What would you say to the poor boy? Or would you just have the lost soul removed from your and the congregations' presence? •.• -Come on, hook me up, I need answers yo'! _What We Ignore Makes Us Ignorant_ Sarwa Maitri ~Tpog

***** Thanks for responding. I know you have a few adoring subscribers that are _pretty_ jealous right now. haha Anyway, objectivity is the name of my game.. it helps me grow (when it comes to considering facts). I don't enjoy getting lost in emotions in that regard. So -no, if I may, I wasn't looking for any particular answer. Just an answer. One last thing -again, if I may be so bold.. while in art school, I submitted a project for one of my finals in photography called: Fairytales & Superstitions. The premise was my assertion that many (if not all) fairytales and superstitions have their origins in some truth. A very _real_ truth. I'm interested in truth.. very interested. No matter what it is, or how contrary to my perspective on reality. If it's the truth, give it to me! ^.^ The thought that the Buddha or Vishnu or any of the past or present Idols of worship were in fact real people is a thought I think worthy of consideration. And if they were _real_ people, then certainly they had a real countenance, a real visage, they came from a real culture and people. As many of us come from and are empirical products of our own particular environments, it's logical to assume in someways they too were men (or women) with a people and _of_ a people. Knowing what these people looked like, in truth, would be of great value... _wouldn't it?_ I mean, how would we recognize our saviors if we don't make a personal decision to consider (overtly) what they _look_ like? -We might find ourselves deceived, in the arms.... of the enemy. *Oh and btw, my teacher totally gave me an A.

***** I can't believe you (or _whomever_ is handling your account) [or your community] deleted my final comment. The one with the links I offered since you offered one. -That's pretty messed up. I'm actually really disappointed. Saddened.. but, really disappointed.... (but ultimately, I understand if you all don't care about the filthy blacks... I wouldn't want to invoke your _"compassion fatigue"_) _smh_.. -Judgement cometh for all they that have wronged His people.. ~Tpog 凸(`△´+)

+ThatPistOffGuy Sure, he could be black. I'd go with that. He could also be the blue medicine Buddha or the jiggly fat Buddha or a white Buddha even. (He's definitely not Keanu Reeves!) In my mind, I honestly don't see color, but instead feel the sutras and thoughts communicated through his disciples. People never talked about his skin tone. It wasn't an issue, so he probably looked similar to everyone else at that time. This discussion reminds me a bit of the story about the man struck with an arrow and the doctor says that they must do surgery immediately to save his life, but instead he asks questions about who did it and why it happened, delaying what was needed and eventually leading to his death. What matters is your practice and how you let go of suffering to attain a more calm self. Knowing what color the Buddha is doesn't lead to that practice. So, by all means, the Buddha was black. And with that resolved, you can now find peace.

If you truly wanted to share the messages in Buddhism, then you would make your videos open and freely available for those who want to listen. Putting a paywall (member site) only serves to diminish the strength of the message you wish to share. To me, this feels like an attempt to monetize buddhism. If you needed monetary support or wish to make donations an option for your viewers, there is always Patreon or similar channels in which you could keep your message free and allow your viewers to more readily support you in a direct manner via donations. I'm sorry but I won't be joining the "Member's Site" as I feel that paying for enlightenment is not the way to enlightenment. Good luck to you on your endeavors, and I enjoyed your videos and will continue to do so when you make them available on KZfaq.

Adam Jones I agree. We must hold those to the standard they set. One of my qualifications in choosing a teacher always makes sure that they cannot make money from their teachings. They must support their monetary needs outside of their teachings. There are some monks who have much wisdom, but they make millions of dollars from books they write, or retreats they charge for. Making elaborate golden monasteries and such is not a healthy way for them to continue the practice. We must hold them to their wisdom. Any money they receive then should be used strictly to spread the Dharma or to be used as resources for those who are in need of it.

+Adam Jones good lord! she is not a nun living for free in an abbey, she is an ordinary citizen with bills to pay, and she won't be providing anybody with any teachings if she can't pay her internet bill, now will she? i will never understand people who feel so entitled to take other people's things with no return contribution.
