Membership Sites: How and When to Launch One

If you're thinking about launching a membership site this year, that's awesome! Membership sites have been a huge source of income, growth, and fun for me and my business over the years.
However HOW you launch and WHEN you launch a membership site is critical to its success.
Today I want to break down some practical dos and don'ts of membership site launches so you can not only make as much money as possible but help as many people as possible over a long period of time.

Thank you for this! Your advice about having 1000 people on your list as well as an online course before launching a membership is golden! I was about to go about it the wrong way by launching a membership wayyy too early and can’t begin to imagine how much time I would’ve wasted 😓

Great summary of things to take into consideration when launching membership or community sites. I’m just setting up a free community for my small group but all the basic things apply. I’m going to run it free for a while so I iron out kinks and get some experience in running it. At some point in the future when my list is big enough I’ll launch a membership site and I’ll have some back content there already. Thanks for your tips and advice. Always much appreciated.

Love your honesty! I am building a membership site and I don't even have a mailing list. I wanted to build one offering a freebie, but What is the use if I do have a group that bought my book, but they don't interact... as you well said, they are just lurking and I do send freebies to the group (only one said that it was good!) Thank you for opening my eyes! I will start with an online course

I'm not a fan of launching two things at the same time personally - but I do think a membership and a course work well together.

I am ready to launch my membership site. I have an email list of 5,000+, Facebook Group with 20k+ members, and Twitter following with 15k+.... I have everything in my membership but I still feel like its not enough. Idk if I'm nervous to launch, or I really dont have enough content. I just want to make my followers happy when I launch. Any advice? p.s. It's because of you that I've been able to start and grow my online business, thank you!

They charged my card after 1 DAY on trial… then didn’t give me the full 30 day trial. And their SUPPORT is POOR. I can’t even get a human on the phone to straighten it out. I’m a paid member, of course, because THEY signed me up. THEY charged my card. And I can’t reach them OR GRAHAM-who I suspect could get their attention!-but I CAN’T! What do I do now? Thing is, I really WANTED to sign up for Pro-and even already moved all my Active Campaign contacts to Kajabi! Now I’m not sure what to do.
