I peel my sweet potatoes before I cut them up. It really saves time. My mom used to cook the sweet potatoes whole, then allow them to cool and slip the skins off. ‘Then she would chunk them for candied sweet potato dish.

Diane, I have been wanting to tell you something since I started watching your videos. You have your countertop material on your backsplash. In 1991 when we remodeled our kitchen I thought, what a great idea to have the countertop also on my backsplash. Easier to clean than wallpaper or expensive tile and so practical! You are the first one to do what I did! You and I are pretty smart ladies!

add some cinnamon and nutmeg, some pecans and mix them all up. you can even add a little vanilla. also a little salt

in Canada, we use yams more than sweet potatoes, but sometimes they really are the same thing. Our sweet potatoes are very starchy, not to my liking. Our family makes candied yams by cooking them nearly all the way and then frying them in a mixture of brown sugar and butter to get that caramelized flavor.

It also helps when doing your shopping to know who's having a sale, you can save a ton of money

when i make candied sweet potatoes i make the sauce with cornstarch brown sugar and orange juice in a sauce pan.when the butter starts to bubble i put the other mixture in and whisk it

Noticed you cooked everything on lower rack of oven. Is it a convection oven?

are there any save alot stores in your area?

Could you do a glaze for the potatoes with the brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg?
