Memorials and Lettering on the Scroll Saw

Күн бұрынThis video discusses a memorial piece made for the family of a friend who passed away. A fretwork logo and combination of inside and outside lettering are used to memorialize the subject. I used a #1 skip tooth reverse blade, maple, walnut, paduak and mahogany to complete the piece. Blue Mixol tint creates a rich blue backer for the logo and shellac provides some protection and a glossy finish.

You are right about the blade change mechanism... that by itself is a make or break as far as the hobby is concerned. And right know, my machine is telling me I have to get a better machine or this hobby is a torment.

David, I definitely get that. If you want to get deep into what you can do with the Scroll Saw I think eventually a quick change mechanism is a necessity. There are lots of options that don't involve a bunch of inside holes that can be easier and fun. What types of projects do you like to make?

David, try a machine in your price range. You can make money, from scrollsaw work. Let others pay for your tools.

What is the blade you're using I could find #1 in Olson, do they have a similar blade?
