There are a lot of guest host who would have made great SNL cast members: Melissa McCarthy, Emma Stone, Tom Hanks, Jim Carrey (he actually did audition for the show, but he saw a guy threatening to kill himself and decided not to be a cast member), Jason Momoa (who actually did consider it, according to his monolgue on the episode he hosted), and Alec Baldwin (though with his frequent appearances on the show as Trump, he might as well be a cast member...at least until SNL can find a suitable replacement), just to name a few.
