In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

"...tell Alex the order the cards are currently in" ....once you get to the lab. Definitely think there is a valid case to be made that you could reorder them before memorizing them and giving them back to Alex.
@CaptChrispy
@CaptChrispy 10 ай бұрын
I was thinking it all along but I still say Loo's way could work- put all the cards in the best order for you to remember them and then recite them when you get there and if he calls you out, confirm that the task says "the order that they are currently in" and currently means now so, at any time you read the task, it's the order that the cards are in at that time!
@funlovingvoyeur

@@funlovingvoyeur Task: "In five minutes you must return this pack of cards to Alex in the lab and tell Alex the order that the cards are currently in...." Anyone well versed in English could very easily interpret that to mean that you need to recite the cards in the order that they are currently in when they are returned to Alex. So its a very good argument to say that you could reorder them before returning them and recite them in the order they are currently in once returned.

@snr0n
@snr0n 9 ай бұрын
@@brianofmoore You could make that argument if the word "currently" was omitted, absolutely. If you don't see the problem with the beginning of the sentence describing a time in the future and the end describing the present, and the way those both relate to the time the task is first read, you're not as clever as you'd like to think. To be clear, it's 100% okay to be wrong about things! Just, y'know, try to be less pompous about it. "At the present time" and "at that time" are different concepts. The comment you're replying to already pointed this out, but since it bears repeating: given that "now" and "currently" are synonymous, you're suggesting you could just reread the task and say it clearly states your time starts now at any point, so you should never run out of time. Do you think that's also a very good argument, or do you see how you can't just substitute either of those words for "presently" whenever you like?

Eh. I'm really not a fan of the trend of people doing amateur diagnosis (usually autism or ADHD) based on how people behave on screen. You have no idea how she is in her actual day to day life, and regardless you can be quirky and erratic without having a neurodevelopmental disorder. Kind of makes a mockery of the genuine serious impact that ADHD has on people if you start applying it to any minor thing.

@eldoriath1 9 ай бұрын
@@mahoganywolf8843 True, I have no idea on how she is in her everyday life, but I do recognize myself in those erratic mistakes which is why I'm wondering if she does have it. And it's not to make mockery of the difficulties, but rather a way of extrapolating how something can look "fun and cute" on TV but when taken into a broader perspective you can see it's not really fun and cute anymore. Rather it becomes a disability when you have difficulties reading and following instructions with a tendency to missing important details. There's also some truth to "it takes one to know one". Might be something else completely of course, but that's just the feeling I'm getting as someone with ADHD themself and who meet a lot of people with ADHD.

To be Honest 100% That All 5 of them are Absolute Idiots, Because the Pen is ON the Other Side of Table, which is Facing them, Why Didn't Any of them Look Very Very Around the Table. What a Joke. If I were in Their Shoes, then I would Have Writen down with a Pen and Searched for it 1st in the Fist Place to Begin With abd then I would have got 100% AKA All of them right.

And yet when random people get to participate in game shows they always say it's so much easier when you're at home, on the couch watching compared to being on the stage with lights and cameras in your face and being put under pressure to perform.

imagine if each one found the pen, silently wrote down the answers, handed alex the cards and then read off the card order, oh my what a lovely and entertaining show that would be.

Joe is not in the slightest bit funny and is totally void of any personality 😕 It's a mystery to me why they invited him onto the show.

I would have just taken the deck into the lab, read them off while still holding the deck, then given it to Alex. I don't think the task specified that you have to give the cards to Alex before you list them.

@@MrVideoFreakDoesn’t it say “return the cards to Alex and tell him the order they’re in”? It doesn’t say “AND THEN tell him the order,” it just says that you have to do both things.

@@MrVideoFreak Yep. Walk into lab with the cards. Read the cards out in order. Return them to Alex in the lab. Task done.

@@oxwof it says "pack of cards", if it said "return the cards" then maybe that could work.
