Interesting method, but like other methods it still comes down to learning note names on the neck

I like how you look at things. Also, it might avoid some confusion if the string sets are referred to as Top, Middle, Bottom. Only because we're already using "thick and thin" as the two strings in each string set. This tutorial, and the triad one especially, will be how I look at the fretboard from now on! Thanks

Awesome! I'll work on rephrasing that. Maybe ground, middle, ceiling?

Just picked this up by accident, but I'm glad I found it as its a great little tool to add to my guitarist's mental toolbox. I like patterns. I also liked the beginning of the explanation 'cos I've always thought that trying to visualise the fretboard from the 6th string starting with an E didn't make sense to my feeble aged brain 😂 so thanks for the lightbulb moment.

Great lesson. Please go more in details. How did you find the note on the second string of the 14th fret so quickly? 5:17
@LearningGuitarSecrets
@LearningGuitarSecrets Ай бұрын
Thank you! Everything after the 12th fret repeats itself one octave higher in pitch. The note on the 14th fret is the same as the note on the 2nd fret😃

@@LearningGuitarSecrets Damn, I am an idiot.😆 And how to find the note on the first (lowest) string of 10th fret? if I go backwards I end at the 5th string of 5th fret. Thank you.

This is a very clear and well explained method for learning the note positions. Finding them quickly and instinctively when improvising takes more work of course, but this is an excellent intro to the subject 😊
