mine is hearing but hearing test has a bug U just click it immediatly and u can get 100% So I think it's actually number memory I didn't using any memory tricks and I got 15 digitals I think it's bcuz I speak chinese(I m not a fking chinese I m taiwanese) It not the sterotype that asian can do better at math ,I will explain. The truth is, in some asian language(Chinese,Japanese,Koreanese) the number system has so little syllables. Every units digit has only 1 syllables to say them out. And the number system in chinese is more logical than English.(I think the number system in French is the most illogical) Here 's the contrast. When a English speaker count to 10 and he will meet the "teens" ,after he finished the "teens" wat come is the "tys". But when a Chinese speaker count to 10 and the following number is like "ten-one ,ten-two" and keep going And to 20 ,"two-ten ,two-ten-one" and so on.

I got 281 on the verbal memory test after trying it twice and then watching you do it and seeing you mention the mind palace thing. I was in a kind of E shaped house in the middle of the vertical line. 1st word was "somehow", which reminded me of "Something" by the Beatles, so I thought of that song. Then I had "neighboring" or something akin to that and I thought of a window in front of me on the left wall of what would be the vertical line of the E house. Then "guessing" which made me think of guests, so then there was a large living room window and a door on the top line of the E shaped house. Later a word that looked like "murray" was given so I imaged Bill Murray as a guest in front of the door. I had a kid with headphones playing Overwatch on his computer next to Bill, and me deleting it. A glass of beer on the ground in the corner for a word similar to "troubles". Some coke on a mirror table for "woebegone". In the middle line of the E was a room with a piano for "staves", a boat for something, and a washing machine. Across from that room there was a dresser with 4 shelves, bottom one had galleons in it. On top of it was a glass of tea for "lei" because idk. One of those marble head Greek things for some word that reminded me of Socrates. Some spears for a word that made me think of Sparta. A Kindle Fire HD for "kindler". A pig running between my legs, a caged seagull for "gull" and a plant on the ground for "germinate". Some people banging in a room behind me for "heterosexual" with some kids outside of it for "godchildren", who were gathered around one of those red, glass bulbey candy dispenser things for "jawbreaker". A tent in the middle of the hallway for "field". Walking into the tent you could go straight or right. Going right there was a room with a faucet for "filter", something I can't remember, and a picture of Shakespeare on the wall for "hath". Going forward in the tent brought you to a door with a keypad and a hatch thing to look through for "permission". Inside was a game room, with a TV on the far side hooked up to an N64 playing Majora's Mask for some word similar to "Majora". There were some other things in the room I can't remember, but I remember a few more things. A white wig for "midaged". A beggar on the ground for "needy", a framed picture of a cell with a cow head for something like "animacuoles", and a duplicator for "duplicator". On the left you could walk into a room with minecraft farmland, and on the right wall of that room was a hallway with baby gates for some puppies. There was a chest in that hallway filled with diamonds and shears for "cleavage", and a minecraft robber skin for some robber related word. Following the hallway, you'd come out into a clearing type of area with a Gmod looking t posing guy for something with "prop" in it. Down an alley to the left was a merry go round right up against a fence. Standing on the merry go round you could see Hitler giving a speech for "totalitarianism". You could jump on a Mars rover for "endeavoured", which would bring you past some cello players with a confederate flag on the wall behind them. You could open a backdoor which put you in a darkroom where someone was developing photos. There was a dildo in the corner for "huge" (haha) and a salt shaker on a table for "saltshaker". There were some stairs in the room or a 2x1 hole with ladders going down one way and a block of water at the bottom the other way for "dropt". At the bottom of the hole was Trump denying something for "deny", some speedos hung up for "speeds", and a little way to exit off to the right. This room was big and open with some pillars. To the far right corner were some scientists launching a nuke for "unconventional". There was an eye on a wall for "unhackneyed" There was a skull wall thing from Doom (1993) for "occultist". Next to one of the pillars was a weighing thing for "weigh". Standing next to that was Vlad the Impaler for some word that reminded me of "impale". Vlad was holding a basket for "gatherer". Going out to the edge of the room there was a railing that was basically a balcony of this big underground chamber. There were some carrots on the ground for some word. It kind of goes on like this for a while, there were a lot of rooms. There was this one area with Arlington National Cemetery, an f-15, some red poppies and Mary Poppins, a statue of a typewriter, and St. Basil's Cathedral. There was another large area. It had a vagina on the wall with a wall of sponge next to it for something like "perspiration". Also a bear in the opposite corner. A giant sphere chained to the ceiling and a pizzeria run by Stalin with a transgender burger on a pedestal. Don't ask me why my mind palace kept getting more and more demented. (It's cause it's like 3 am.) Long story short the mind palace shit works though.

I think it's really interesting how in the number memory one you went back and put more numbers in as if you were remembering sections and putting them in place. When I was doing the test I was putting the whole sequence in my mind and reading it back, so it's interesting to see how people think differently
@ruffsnap
@ruffsnap 2 жыл бұрын
My best guess is that he has a word assigned to each number 0-9 that he's used for memorization in the past, and so he was breaking the bigger number into chunks, and basically just trying to remember the string of words/sorta sentence that would go with each part, so kinda like remembering pieces of story. Still takes a good bit of skill though. I know people do similar things for general memorization, where they create a sentence out of the first letter of some sequence they need to remember for a school test or something, then they only have to remember the sentence which is often easier than just memorizing the straight data. I was kinda annoyed I learned that people do that after I was older and graduated from university lol, coulda definitely come in handy.
@Adam-cn5ib
@Adam-cn5ib 2 жыл бұрын
@@ruffsnap dawg the whole point is to test your short-term memory. Coming up with strategies completely breaks the whole point. You're not supposed to get more than 12 numbers. I've gotten 11 once but usually cap out at 10. It's because the brain has 2-4 chunk spaces. People with 4 chunks are considered more intelligent and can keep up to 12 numbers in their head. It's a loose way of measuring your ability to focus on a particular task.
@ruffsnap

Verbal memory made school really easy, school is not a good measure of logician skills, rhetorical skills, a good amount of creative talents, it’s mostly about organization (and can be hijacked with good verbal memory). I’d say say those skills in the real world are valued in the order I put them. It’s sad that our education system fails to cater to what’s actually needed in society. There wasn’t a single time in grade school when the rules of logic where brought up yet it’s quite literally the fundamental tool behind our intelligence.

It was interesting so see your score in the chimp test (which is the best I performed the best in). I got to 24 and it was apparently better than 100% of people, so I was curious about what the memory champ could do. After seeing your reaction, I can totally relate btw. Just FYI, the visual memory test is much easier on a touchscreen, since you can tap the squares much faster than you can click a mouse, and don't have to hold the whole thing in your memory for as long.

I did a flawless 41(maximum) on a Chimp test. Had to spend almost 3 hours though as the time spent on each task grows exponentially. In fact, getting to 25 points took me 30 minutes, everything above that was more than 2 hours. Honestly, apart from the minor psychological torture, it was kinda fun. You missed out on a unique experience when you chose to quit when you did.

@@tsmlincsbtw8596 I've been called a liar far too many times to care, lol. In fact, it's good that you don't trust strangers on the internet, since it's too costly to do so. Actually, I used to boast a lot back at that time, trying to boost my ego and divert my own attention from the things I didn't want to look at. Like not working hard to achieve my goals and trying to scrape by with just talent. It's a destructive mentality really which caused me a lot of trouble. You are kinda right to doubt me, cause smart people don't usually boast about their intelligence, they have better things to do. And I do seem a bit delusional from that comment. @anthonychen7224
@anthonychen7224 3 жыл бұрын
Several things you can do (My high score is 24). First is to pay more attention to the squares farthest away. These ones are tricky and if you don't memorize their positions accurately, you'll almost definitely not pass the stage. Second tip is to practice your aim when clicking squares. A lot of the time, while you're trying to memorize all the positions of the squares, you'll be clicking the obvious squares in your peripheral. If you mess up and accidentally miss one or two of the obvious squares, you'll have trouble relocating them later on, so try to be as accurate as possible as efficiently as possible.
