Here in New Hampshire we have a lot of mountains and outdoor activities so balsam is a pretty popular scent. All the gift shops have everything balsam from soaps, candles, room sprays, and even small pillows filled with needles that smell like you’re walking through the forest. It’s awesome

NH as well and Balsam or anything smelling of the woods is my most popular scent requested. Not at all surprising, people come here for the forests and mountains, hiking and camping up North.

That is so funny ! I am a candle maker from Oregon and I dont sell very many rose candles at all. Its one that I usually keep on hand and always have an over abundance of because they don't sell lol! Citrus & Balsam is one that I make all year round though! Thank you for this video it was very interesting!

As someone from California I can definitely agree with a vanilla being a top scent as it was the most popular in school. My family lives in Oregon and they do a lot with roses so that also makes sense!

I’m a Georgia girl.. Mahogany Teakwood makes sense, it’s very woodsy here, even in the city of Atlanta. I personally love vanilla.

Thank you for the information. I haven't launched yet, but it's interesting that Texas fragrance was Gardenia. I need to look into Candle Sciences' fragrance indicator to see what is popular for Texas. I feel like the fragrances I have for when I launch, I need to change or add to it.

Yes, I'm in GA and I sell A LOT of Mahogany Teakwood. And, I'm a Florida girl and Citrus is correct. Jamaica Me Crazy is my #1 seller.

Pumpkin makes total sense for Arkansas. Given that we get maybe 2 weeks of prime fall weather, we trick ourselves into thinking it’s fall time all year round. 🎃🌞

In New Mexico I feel like what I see the most of (in stores and people's houses) are scents with sage or palo santo. Maybe I'm just ignoring the pumpkin because I don't like it.

Very interesting! Was the data for candle scents that people searched for or scents that people actually bought? I was thinking about how often I search for something on Google and then buy something that has nothing to do with that search. 🤣

@@MemoryBoxCandleCo Omg I wasn’t expecting to get a response - thank you so much! Its actually 6.5oz fill weight - sorry for the typo. The vessel size is an 8oz vessel (they say) but I can only fill up to 6.5 max. I’ve learned through trial and error making the fill weight 8oz and wasting a lot more products and I’m sick of it! Lol.

Could anyone help, please. I'm just starting making candles and I've read counting drops of essential oil isn't as accurate as counting grams of essential oil. Fair enough. However as I'm only testing, I make 1-2 candles at a time, but my kitchen scale doesn't pick up tiny amounts like 10g for example. Is there any other way to measure essential oils? Our is counting drops just as good as grams? If so, how many drops / 100g of soy wax? Thank you!

Hi Barbara, I’ve never personally worked with essential oils in candles before so I’m not sure if the ratio of wax to EO would be the same. However I would still recommend that you weigh your EO using a gram scale. You will need one that will show 0.1 g like this one: amzn.to/3Rl1bZm I hope that helps a little bit!

Nashville, TN business here - lemon soap yes, but not lemon candles. No one has ever asked for that. My mahogany teakwood and crème Brûlée candles are best sellers for me.

I’m in west Tennessee and most of my customers love woodsy, warm, tobacco type scents. Lemon isn’t as popular for me.

I guess there wasn’t enough data that could be collected so they didn’t add it :/ there were a few other states like that as well (it’s the bottom italicized part)

I am in AZ and made coconut candles inside coconut shells and didn’t sale any. Keeping them to give or myself . Took them several times to the farmer markets and NOTHING. People like the design, idea, concept etc but they chose Palo Santo Patchouli all the time instead,

Honestly heartily dislike the Volcano candle I bought and it was a fortune and I bought it because people raved about the scent.
