Another day she sets foot in this prison, dreading what they'll say.
So much to give, but no one ever listens.
She dreams of running away.
Crippled by the way they make her feel, she takes a look at her wrists & turns to the blade. It's not a cry for attention if she just wants to feel anything other than the pain.
Everyone deserves to be loved, but they make her hate everything she was sure of!
Every day feels like her against the world.
Now she's afraid she'll never be enough.
No one knows all the weight that she holds when she feels alone.
The memories, they haunt her.
No one sees all the pain she brings everywhere she goes.
She feels they'll never want her.
She dreams of a day when she won't have to cry herself to sleep.
Staring at the scars on her wrists she knows this is not who she wants to be.
Another night all alone with her thoughts, dwelling on the questions that race through her head.
Scared to sleep, scared to wake up & face the day when she can't forget the things that they said.
No one knows all the weight that she holds when she feels alone.
The memories, they haunt her.
No one sees all the pain she brings everywhere she goes.
She feels they'll never want her.
All she wants is someone to notice; so sick of feeling invisible.
All she needs is someone to care.
If only they could see that she's incredible.
She dreams of a day when she won't have to cry herself to sleep.
Is our generation too blind to see true beauty lies beneath the skin?
So ignorant!
Are they too cold, too numb to see the lifelong effects of the pain they inflict?
Is our generation too blind to see true beauty lies beneath the skin?
No one knows all the weight that she holds when she feels alone.
No one sees all the pain she brings everywhere she goes.
Staring at the scars on her wrists she knows this is not who she wants to be.

This is probably one of the most positive, powerful, influential, message sending, Christ like bands in metal. MMF and Matty have probably saved thousands of lives through his music and through his relationship with God. All I can say is a lot of people look up to Matty. Keep up the work. Amazing music, great messages and outrageous talents.

For all of you saying they have gone downhill since The Hollow...sorry but they haven't. They have some of the realist and most relatable lyrics I have ever heard and that's what makes them the best. Is this better than The Hollow? Not quite but its still pretty damn good.

I love the message of this video, no matter how 'generic and overused' someone may think it is. The image showing the buildings collapsing shows that depression can feel like your world is falling apart but in the end how her dad saw her and hugged her shows that there's someone who cares about you and that it's going to be okay. love it.

Just because she's attractive, doesn't mean she wouldn't feel bad about herself or feel lonely. I feel this way a lot. It's called depression people. You can be in a room surrounded by people and feel like you're alone. Feeling like they are on the other side of a glass wall, and you're by yourself.

I cried the first time I heard this song... I used to struggle with self injury for almost a decade. I went through a lot of abuse in my early childhood and began to gain weight out of protection and comfort. As a teenager I began to truly hate myself. Kids at school reminded me of a daily basis how ugly I was. My family members made jokes about my weight as well. I felt worthless, disgusting, hideous, unwanted, damaged, and unlovable. I carried that pain with me every second of every day. I ached so bad for someone to reach out to me and want to hold me, love me, desire me. Yet, no one ever saw me as something they wanted to love. Until I met Jesus. I was I was healed of self injury, among other things, when I was 19, that's when I truly surrendered my heart to Jesus. By 'surrender' I mean I literally got onto my knees and said "God, I can't do this on my own anymore, I need YOU!". I bought myself a Bible. This was the first time I ever WANTED to read it. Daily, I read little verses or side notes of my "Joyce Meyer Everyday Life Bible", then it soon began to grow into full chapters, then several chapters daily. Then I read full books of the Bible. I applied the wisdom I drew from the verses od the Bible. when things were hard, when I felt alone, when I had problems that made me feel like I was worthless and better off dead, I would repeat those verses that inspired me. I began to speak to God in my head or out loud when I was alone. Sometimes I even felt like He answered me. Sure enough, since the day I gave Him my heart and began to read His word; I began to change from the inside out. When I was 18 I was almost 300 lbs. I was cutting for so long that they began to get very deep and require stitches. I was smoking pot and cigarettes, drinking hard liquor, piercing all over my face, listening to angry and depressing music, I was mean to other people because I didn't want to give them a chance to reject me. I was so used to being rejected and tossed away I assumed everyone was going to do that. Because if Jesus, because of His love, He healed me and changed me. I quit smoking everything and drinking. I began to eat healthy and exercise and God gave me the strength to have self control and be diligent in my exercise routines. He put me in a position where I had access to healthy foods and the ability to research the things I needed to be successful with my weight-loss. The living situation I was in before didn't allow me access to healthy food or internet whenever I needed. He just made it all work out. A year after I gave Him my heart, He made me a new person. I got rid of all my slipknot, korn, MSI, Manson shirts/CDs/DVDS, posters, etc. I replaced it with positive but heavy Christian tunes. I began to wear brighter colors, I took out my piercings and pulled my hair back, I began to do things to pamper myself (most self injurerers don't because they don't feel worthy of being pampered) Soon enough I was able to walk into a store and buy clothes from the appropriate section for my age. I had never been able to do so since I gained weight quickly at a young age. I went from almost 300 lbs to a muscular, sexy 168. I was doing p90x almost daily. Then I got SICK. like, super sick. in the hospital, on oxygen, unable to walk or speak because my oxygen levels were so low. hair fell out, lumps formed all over my body, on my head, in my lungs, on my ovaries causing painful periods. I cried to God a lot. I lost faith really quick as things became worse and worse. it took 3 years for me to heal. this is the healthiest I have been since I got sick three years ago. I got better once I started reading my Bible again and trusting God. I used to put my faith in the doctors at the hospitals.. but Jesus is the ultimate healer. He changed my heart and healed me inside out. I know Jesus will save anyone who calls upon His name. God bless you all. Keep on Rocking on. c:

I've been here. I've been in this girl's position. I know that pain, I know that struggle. Because of bands like Memphis May Fire, I beat it. I got out of that. I've seen this band live, and they played this song at the show I went to. I've never been to a more positive show in my life. I've seen Christian artists before, but this...this blows them out of the water because odds are, they've never been depressed. They've never been suicidal. I love what Matty Mullins and his wife, Brittany, are doing. She has am organization called Beneath The Skin, and if you ever need someone to talk to, contact them. They're amazing people.

RahmiThing I understand that, but "pretty girls" are always represented. I've never seen in my life a 'fat' or 'ugly' girl or boy because yes, we got extra crap to deal with for that. It's hard for me to see stuff like this because all my life, 99% of my problems are because I'm 'fat and ugly', so I have to deal with even more crap to compensate and to be treated as an equal individual.

RahmiThing I get what you're saying. Everybody deals with everything differently. A similar event between two people can either mean absolutely everything or nothing at all. But if you are 'ugly', you just get an extra layer of issues atop whatever common issues people run into

After many years of listening to every genre of music, and appreciating songs for their beauty as well as the skill taken to create specific masterpieces, I finally found a screamo, metal song that I believe is absolutely perfect. The emotion thrown into every word, the instrumentals, the story that is portrayed by every statement/chord is a display of true genius. Even though the meaning of this song has no relevance to my life at this point in time, this song gives me chills throughout my entire body. No matter who you are or what genre of music you listen to, if you do not stop to appreciate this piece of brilliance after your ears get a whiff, I feel that you do not deserve to have the ability to hear. Thank you for this Gentlemen, and keep releasing your incredible stories....

Memphis May Fire are too fucking good. You can feel the passion/heart in every single song cant think of too many other bands that do that. I hope they're gunna be around for many years to come.

Gosh... If a band doesn't seem to change then all the fans complain, and if they do change then all the fans STILL complain! WHAT DO YOU EXPECT THEM TO DO!?! YOU'RE NOT GIVING THEM ANY OPTIONS!! Bottom line: People complain no matter what, and you can't expect a band to please everyone. Good bands write music that is important to them, as opposed to the pop culture where music is made on a profit basis. It shouldn't matter if they change or not; they know what they're doing, and they do what they want. They do want to utilize their music to strike an impact on people. As long as they accomplish this, what does it matter if you think their style is too different or unchanged? Goodness gracious.

Just started listening to these guys just two days ago. The result: favorite band. Now im listening to others like of mice and men, sleeping with sirens, peirce the veil, bring me the horizen, blood on the dance floor, amd other greatness. I used to just listen to just linkind park, untill I heard all this music. I dont know why I didnt give it a try before. Anyway, im not emo, I listen to the greatest music every that actually speaks to men and I get what they are saying, its deep. I should probably stop rambling...
