Full coverage of the quarter-final bouts in the men's light (60kg) boxing event at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Boxing made its Olympic debut at the 1904 Games in St Louis, since then boxing has been staged at each edition of the Games, except in 1912 in Stockholm, owing to Swedish law, which forbade the practice.
The rules have evolved since the 1980s: 1984 in Los Angeles: protective helmet obligatory; 1992 in Barcelona: set-up of an electronic scoring system to strengthen the objectivity of refereeing; 2007: standardised point scoring. Women's boxing will make its debut at the 2012 London Games in London.

@@niggazaire4926 ingenious. Nobody would ever think a drug deal is happening live right in front of them, just hide in plain sight.

aye..great respect for those boxers and warriors out there.. but why they have a really skinny arms and chest...is it all about points or that size is sufficient for a knockout

Without head guard I believe with proper technique and precision they can have one shot KO's.

They train to balance stamina, intensity, speed and power all at once. It's not like pro level where they have time to bulk, train and recover between matches. Olympic boxing tournaments take course over about 2 weeks. Having a bigger muscular build would mean you need more oxygen and recovery time.
