We Are Man Enough

8 ай бұрын

Drawing on years of working with both men and women on sexual and spiritual intimacy, masculinity and finding one's purpose, John Wineland shares how he's trying to help men across the world. A renowned men’s group facilitator, teacher and thought leader, John encourages people to embrace a paradigm shift where masculinity celebrates femininity, presence and liberation. Discover the power and purpose of men's groups (and where to find them), gatherings of men fueled by accountability and real friendships that transcend superficial bonds like sports and booze.
With empathy that is far too rare these days, John speaks directly to men who feel displaced, isolated and forgotten in this dynamic time of change in our world. John's message offers clarity and inspiration for men navigating challenging times. He also discusses the secret to handling the grief of losing his daughter (the inspiration for Justin's film, Five Feet Apart) with grace and healing, made possible largely because of the support he found in his own men's group.
Whether you identify as a man, woman, trans or nonbinary, this conversation will probably make you want to learn with John, and will have you cheering for him to accomplish his ambitious goal of creating 10,000 men's groups around the world. Men’s group leader, John Wineland, shares his journey of healing, handling the grief of losing his daughter with joy, and embracing a paradigm shift where masculinity celebrates femininity, presence and liberation. Discover the power and purpose of men's groups, where friendships transcend superficial bonds like sports and booze, and how to find them. Later, John shares a special message for men who may feel displaced in this great time of change! John's message offers clarity and inspiration for men navigating challenging times.

I wish I had a good men’s group in Haiti 🇭🇹 I’m having some very hard and painful loneliness moments and it’s hard to open up and be vulnerable when people start to either judge and treat you differently as if you’re “fragile “. Thanks for the podcast and the hosts and the guests. You’re doing an awesome job

Thank you for sharing. That isolation can be tough. Maybe it's worth getting some training from great men's organizations so you can start and lead men's groups there. Or join online groups that are starting to pop up. Glad you're part of our community.

My husband of 30 years has a very stressful job and wears many hats there. I've noticed since starting that job that during downtime while we're watching tv, he literally makes that squeaking sound and I also touch his arm and tell him to BREATH. He says he IS breathing., am I silly? He's clueless to his chest-breathing until I tell him to "breathe deep from your belly" to relax your body and mind. I'd love for him to be able to detach from his job mentally and cannot wait for him to retire and have the relaxed guy back (like we get on vacations or 3 or more days in a row off of work) Men carry so much stress and women want so badly to help them feel their very best. We love our guys so much especially when they are PRESENT, open and relaxed.

Beautiful conversation about how important it is to have a community of your own, build an emotional connection with people you love and trust, how important it is to have a sense of trust, to be able to count on yourself and your community to be better, to allow yourself to evolve into a better version of yourself to gain a deeper emotional connection to your humanity and connecting with other people, speaking the truth into each other's hearts and the ability to experience a greater, richer life as a result from deeper emotional connection to community, to oneself and with loved ones.

Just landed a terrific opportunity to help start a men’s group in my community. We met for the first time tonight and everyone has ideas on how the meetings should flow; and whether there should be a single theme of the meeting or just leave it open. There’s already talk of limiting how many people so that everyone can feel included. Does Man Enough have any suggestions on how a men’s group should be organized and run? Any website or resource that could be offered would be greatly appreciated!

I've been in a men's group that has been meeting for 44 years now. Three of the men have died and I'm now the eldest. I also have 5 children, 17 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. I was prepared for the death of my parents, and even my children are getting to an age where death is a possibility, as is true for me (80 years old soon) and my wife (85), but I was blindsided when my first great grand daughter died of SIDS. Sharing the reality of our losses and loves is a great blessing. Thank you for letting me join and share this podcast.

Opening up my figurative heart is a work in progress on a daily basis. There is a serious need to become more of a Wholehearted person as a man because of reading Matthew 4:1-11 In order to understand the spiritual lesson of how to resist peer pressure effectively that is really helpful and encouraging. - 2 Timothy 3:14-17

The next step to teach mean after self building and accountability is distinguishing healthy balanced women from unhealthy and mentally ill women like narcissists, sociopaths, etc. Too often good men get ruined by female predators.

It's wild to me that there are so many men that have date after date, mini relationship after mini relationship from dating apps and can't find a woman they want to build something with. Absolutely wild. Not my issue with online dating at all but I guess I'll have that to look forward too. Right now women don't match me. So, those guys have the problem with too much attention and I have none. Can we even this out a little bit please?

Congratulations! Taking that first step is the hardest one. Groups follow many different methodologies - just getting together and being open with each other is enough.
