We're kicking off season 6 with our brother, Ezekiel Azonwu. Listen in as Ezekiel and Preston give us a sneak peek of what to expect on their upcoming We Need To Talk Tour. Culture discourages men from being in community, and many men are confused about their call and spiritual giftedness. But guys are crying out for discipleship and voices in close proximity to them that will build them up. Let’s talk about it.
Connect with Ezekiel on Instagram at @wordsbyezekiel, and get your tickets for the tour at www.weneed2talktour.com.
Help us get to know you: wkf.ms/3SHxrJQ

It's not that men don't want to be challenged because men do that with each other all the time. It's that we don't want you to challenge us like men but rather like women. That's why Western men are looking to other women for wives, aka foreign women. Women have soft powers use it.

You clearly are the wounded that they were talking about. How on earth did you glean judgment from what that lady said.....but you did not say a peep as to what Preston and Ezekiel gave an entire synopsis on the brokenness of that man and how his dogma was not Christ-like......but you have an issue with what Jackie said? Peace is debatable.....because unfortunately, that man was not at peace at his big age. He did not live the things that he preached in any type of way and the reason some men resonated with him is via their shared brokeness......period. I thank God for Ezekiel, Preston and Jackie for this conversation.

This may be unpopular but I’ll share it anyways. The Bible says that whoever wants to be the greatest among us must be a servant. He also says that lording it over people (usually what a lot of men seem to mean when they talk about leadership) is not what is expected from His followers. In my observation, the reason a lot of men aren’t in the church is that men have only been taught one-way submission, both in the culture and in the church. They think “leadership” is connected to “lordship” and have absolutely no context whatsoever about how they also need to submit as men, so when they find themselves in situations that do require their voluntary submission (ex. to the pastor), they don’t have the framework to handle it. It’s the same reason that underlies why women tend to have an easier time with church structure. This is not about how we’re wired, this is pure social conditioning.

@@BjtheLawyer_ , Thank you for putting it in words succinctly and objectively. Mr Samuels represents what is needed, but is lacking in the culture. So minimizing that purpose,to emotional feelings alone,is doing one self a disservice. Building a house on a sandy soil,in a dry season without knowledge of both raining and dry season. And the understanding of how seasons affects the soil and why it impacts the building, you build on it,is recipe for a diasterous fall of the build, during raining season. KS shows this, through demonstration of critical reasoning ability,in terms of skill, tools and rules of his engagement, to find the suitable nature of mind for the value you wants to cultivate in it,as your legacy.

WOOO! Preston was PREACHIN' preachin' today! I reacted like his proud wife, Jackie, the whole episode. LOL! I can tell God has given Preston much wisdom on male-female relationships because he spoke with such clarity, conciseness and quick wit. I'm excited to see what God is going to do through Preston and Ezekiel. Jackie, thanks as usual for asking much-needed questions and offering your insights. SPLENDIFEROUS EPISODE! I've learned how to relate better with men, including my dad, brothers and male co-workers. 49:00 Also, when Ezekiel hit us with the story of Jesus washing the disciples' feet, I had to run to the Ephesians 5:25 when Paul writes, "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,..." I never connected that with Jesus literally washing feet with water, but it makes so much sense. Jesus was modeling servant-leadership to husbands. Wow! And Peter initially rejected Jesus' offer, but he learned to receive. That mirrors what some women might do-not respond to leadership, as Jackie pointed out. WOW! This episode really blessed me! Thank you, God!

Do people really think that because God says "adultery and if the unsaved person wants to leave" means physical abuse isnt grounds for divorce? God gave us common sense for a reason. We have instincts as humans to protect ourselves from harm. You dont stay with someone who beats you because God doesnt directly say you can divorce if physical abuse takes place. Its clear in other passages that abuse is unacceptable behavior. If you want to separate but not divorce right away and give the person a chance to repent/change, thats fine but if they dont get help, you are just delaying the inevitable. They will eventually move on to someone else (adultery). Also, i would guess 9 times out of 10, if physical abuse is present, they are probably cheating too. No respect.

The problem is that Western churches operate like lecture classes instead of workshops. When you take a workshop, EVERYBODY has to participate. You can't "attend" a writing workshop without bringing in your work. You critique others and you get critiqued. The ONLY ministry I ever participated in where there was gender balance (or too many men on some occasions!) was a ministry based on training people up to go out to evangelize, heal the sick, and cast out demons. Like if you got saved last week, you fittna be sharing your testimony and praying for people this week! And there was no just "getting saved." You getting baptized ASAP and we pulling on the Holy Spirit to cast these demons out and get you filled with Holy Spirit on Day One. There was NEVER a shortage of men. That's what a "workshop" looks like in a church setting. Faith is built as we do the work. Courage is built as we see God show up. We're able to serve the Lord fully once we get free from demonic oppression. "The kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power." (1 Corinthians 4:20) The Christian church needs to talk less and DO more, period.

Regarding the church catering to women, I definitely agree. There are many women's conferences, many female Christian speakers and preachers. But I don't think that the church purposefully caters to women over men because they see us as better consumers, I simply think this is because women are more active within the church. More women attend church, more women are willing to participate and contribute to ministry. For example, my church has a men's ministry that is led by one of the pastor's, but they are barely active (although I have attended churches where the men, although still fewer in number, are quite active). Meanwhile, the women's ministry is a lot more active and social. I don't believe the church is catering to women, I think more women are showing up and reaping the greatest benefit that church provides, which is community. But that sense of community lacks equilibrium if men do not also receive it.

@@cybercowgirl5711Of course there is benefit to being around believers whether they are men or women, and the word of God does not change. But just as women need other women to disciple and lead them, men need other men, and it doesn’t work when those roles are mixed up.

On the men at church-- I’m a woman lol but from watching over 15 yrs at my church and seeing what my Pastors (husband&wife team example as Pastors)offer the men together and most importantly my Pastor Joe as a man of God himself individually provides as an example for men I believe I can accurately say thru observation that--… my church is rare because men join, serve and are faithful. No one is forcing them to come. No pressure. I believe men need a place to be vulnerable, where it’s safe to share, where there’s consistency, support, be recognized, allowed to grow from where they are, see a strong example of a man of God that works and know that they are loved and are important. I see this actively done at my church. We have mens gathering called Brave every month-150 plus men come out on a Sat morn to get encouragement from our Pastor and fellowship with each other. It’s a beautiful thing🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾💙🙏🏾 I pray this miracle for all ministries .

My Pastor actually just told me the answer to the question at 27:50 recently. The problem with the church, especially the black church, is that the Hebrew Israelites, Muslims and the "Red Pill Community" don't lack Accountability. The lack of accountability is what is hurting our communities the most. The problem is always someone else has a fault/problem and no one feels like they should be the one to solve any issues. The old blame the young, the young blame the old, women blame men, men blame women, ETC. We have to be accountable.
