Listened to that Curtis Mayfield Live record during Easter dinner last night. A real crowd-pleaser. Fantastic sounding for a live album.

Simply put, Tommy is the man. Such a kind soul, a true musical master, much love from Cologne, Germany. (Tommy, remember Jojo’s rehearsal place & the gig at Binkyˋs birthday in the outer boroughs of Cologne, at the old military fort in the woods? Such good times ...).

Substitute New York for Philly (or wherever your closest venue is) and seeing a small 5 piece group in a small club DOES seem like a dream right now. I can't wait for live music to come back.

If you're a fan of Amy Winehouse, Charles Bradley, El Michels - these guys all run in the same circles! Sharon Jones, Lee Fields, and the daptone label. Check. Them. OUT... Yes you’re absolutely right! Everything they are involved with is dope. Tommy is also in Budos Band as well as Menehan. Notice he’s wearing the new El Michels affair shirt from the new album drop.

Excellent band. A classmate at university turned me on to them. Nice to see the influences. Curtis was the best. Wichita Lineman is a beautiful song.

You're doing yourself a disservice of not knowing who the Menahan Street Band are...first and foremost quality music makers (the new album is great) but run in crowds that are all over some excellent releases...The band features musicians from Antibalas, El Michels Affair, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings and the Budos Band. Brenneck (dude in the video) actually produced the Changes album by Charles Bradley and is part of the Budos band who are badass...The musicians in THOSE bands did backing for Charles Bradley, Amy Winehouse, worked with Mark Ronson...all in all some very cool, accomplished, and cool people. Brenneck (dude in the video) actually produced the Changes album by Charles Bradley is part of the Budos band, and runs a studio with Mark Ronson after recording with him and Amy Winehouse some years ago...so, that's "who"
