Bio: Mendels Kaelens ir neirozinātnieks, 2019. gadā dibinātā uzņēmuma Wavepaths dibinātājs un izpilddirektors. Wavepaths apvieno zinātni, psihiterapiju, tehnoloģiju un mākslu, lai tādējādi nodrošinātu transformatīvu pieredzi. Šobrīd Wavepaths ir fokusējies divos virzienos - viens no tiem ir mūzikas pieredzes izmantošana psihedēliskai terāpijai, savukārt otrs ir “mūzika kā medicīna,” bez psihedēlisko substanču klātbūtnes. Mendela Kaelena pārliecība ir, ka personību transformējoša pieredze iespējama arī tikai ar skaņas starpniecību, mūzikai savā ziņā kļūstot par “psihedēliska ceļojuma” ekvivalentu.
Iepriekš, kopš 2011. gada, viņš strādāja par doktora un pēcdoktorantūras līmeņa neirozinātnieku Londonas Impēriskajā koledžā, kur viņa pētījumi bija pirmie, kas pierādīja mūzikas centrālo lomu psihedēliskās terapijās.
Mendels ir domas līderis mūzikas terapeitiskās izmantošanas jomā, bieži publicējas un uzstājas kā lektors. Par viņa darbību rakstījuši tādi izdevumi kā Forbes, Nature News, San Francisco Chronicles, Vice Motherboard, Rolling Stone un TEDx. Mendels dzīvo un strādā uz planētas Zeme.

Mendel Kaelen. The neuroscience of psychedelic therapy and the therapeutic role of music
Mendel Kaelen, the founder and CEO of Wavepaths, speaks at the international on-line conference “Psychedelics: the game-changer in mental health and medical science.” The conference organised by NGO “Veselīga Latvija” (Healthy Latvia) and cultural and humanities portal Arterritory.com/Spiriterritory.com took place on May 17, 2023 in Riga, Latvia.
Bio: Mendel Kaelen is the founder and CEO of Wavepaths, a company founded in 2019 that has developed the world´s first person centred-music solution for/as psychedelic therapy. Prior to this, he worked as a PhD and postdoctoral neuroscientist at Imperial College London since 2011, where his research was the first to demonstrate music’s central role in psychedelic therapies. He is a thought leader on the therapeutic use of music and publishes and speaks frequently on this topic. He has been featured amongst others in Forbes, Nature News, San Francisco Chronicles, Vice Motherboard, Rolling Stone and TEDx. Mendel lives and works on planet Earth.
