My anxiety levels are through the roof most of the time. But when my oldest son was young (he's same age as Lily) and I was at work, I went to the GP and she prescribed me anti depressents. I was in my early 30s then. I did not think that would alleviate the way I was feeling and would not take them. I also agreed to see some counsellor, who turned out to be a psychiatric nurse. She was absolutely of no use to me whatsoever. I reached the conclusion I was the only one who was going to be able to help me and it worked up until about the past 5 years. I've been debating for over 2 years now, listening to your vlogs about going to the GP but I feel they'll just want to go down the anti depressant route and so I can't face trying to talk them round. May sound very strange (does to me even). But caring for two young adults and thinking of their futures I think nothing will alleviate anxiety for me. Hope I'm wrong. I do enjoy all the information you give us Liz. You are a joy to watch. Thank you. xxxx Kim T

I feel really failed by the nhs at 37 til 40 I was in and out of mental health facilities for severe anxiety and depression and paranoia not even being able to live alone , I got severe vertigo and was diagnosed with a vestibular disorder at 44 and couldn’t work for a year , it wasn’t until I went to my gp with night sweats and no periods for a year at 46 that the ball dropped….it was all perimenapause and then menopause ! Iam now on HRT and I feel great but god Iam cross I feel that drs surgeries should have specialist menopause drs . Thank god for people like yourself, davina McCall etc for fighting for us cheers Liz xxx

Understand what you mean! I persevered with Utrogestan for 6 months, even tried using it as a pessary every other day as recommended by Dr Louise Newson but still suffered very low mood. Mood is so much better since I came off HRT but still have anxiety and poor sleep quality. Fee like I’m missing out on other health care benefits too. GP said I could try other types of progesterone but I’m a bit apprehensive. Will give saffrosun a try thank you! 🙋🏻‍♀️

Maybe ask your doctor if you can use vaginally every other day - many medics suggest this off-license use. The Mirena coil is also helpful for some as delivers a very low-dose directly where needed in the uterus. Same dose in one year as in two daily capsules, so very small but enough to protect the lining of the womb. Hope helpful, best wishes, Annie x

What if the doctor tells you, your, estrogen levels are good. Which I don't believe, because of my symptoms they say I'm in perimenopause and put me on anti depression mess, the standard blood test they give women to me are not accurate enough. I still have a cycle . The first thing obgyn doctors and primary doctors wanna do is throw you on anti depression meds. They don't seem to or don't have enough knowledge about women's pregnancy or menopausal health, it's real and it's a living hell.
