I was leaving my mother's house and started the car. She came out and flagged me down concerned there was something wrong with the engine. Despite how it sounds, it still delivers 24 miles per gallon and doesn't use a drop of oil. I could only imagine a V8 would be a lots more refined but use twice as much fuel.

You are correct. That engine made it another 20k miles when it started making a metallic ticking noise. We have since pulled that engine out and replaced it with a reman that has 24k miles on it. I'll get a video of that one of these days. The new one is so much smoother.

@@gwest111 - Absolutely. This new engine is great. 26-27mpg in mixed driving. I recently had to replace the fan clutch. Otherwise, everything is working great. Still on R-12 for the A/C too.
