We've replaced the original battery with the OPTIMA H6 flat plate AGM battery in this 2016 Mercedes GLC300. Although this video may provide you with the basic procedures, we recommend that you check with the vehicle manufacture's step by step procedures found in service/repair manuals for the vehicle you are working on.

do you know what the extra cable and plug/socket is for on new type mercedes s300 , situation where the breather normally is plugged in to the battery , and does this need the the vehicle to be told a new battery is fitted ? thankyou

This kind of memory saver is useless if it's hooked to the positive battery terminal. Use a jump starter with a cigarette lighter socket and obd2 memory saver cord.

Hi - Thanks for watching! The memory saver is connected to the positive CABLE in the video. Your suggestion will work well too if the cigarette lighter fuse is not blown.

Hi - Thanks for watching! We have not used that charger so we don't know. We have, however, used several different chargers and jump packs in the past with success.

So the battery in this 2016 GLC300 didn't require the new battery to be being registered with the BCU you spoke about?

Hi - Thanks for watching! The information we currently have indicates that no registration was required for this vehicle' but we recommend that you check with a service manual for your vehicle to be sure.

My Mercedes dealer advised me that a new battery did not need to be registered with the car.
