Since autumn is already ending, and the desire to ride a convertible does not disappear, you have to change summer wheels to winter ones. My Mercedes-Benz SLK 280 has two sets of wheels: summer and winter, and both are assembled on a variety of original R16 wheels. But since I have the opportunity to borrow for a while wide wheels with 245/40 R18 winter tires from Mercedes-Benz E200 W112, I decided to try to put these wheels on my Mercedes SLK 171 body.
Having looked at the table of discs and tires possible for installation on a Mercedes-Benz SLK R171, I saw that such discs with such rubber would not work for my Mercedes without any modifications in the form of spacers between the brake and wheel discs. Since for installation on Mercedes SLK r171 R18 discs, the discs must correspond to the parameters R18x (from 7.5 to 8.5) ET 28-37 for the front discs, and R18x (from 8.5 to 10) ET 28-35 for the rear discs ... And the tires should be 225/40 R18 for the front wheels and 245 / 35R18, 255 / 35R18 for the rear wheels. And the wheels from the Mercedes E-class have front wheels R18x8.5 ET48 and rear wheels R18x9 ET54, and tires are 245 / 40R18. Therefore, it is necessary to change the offset of the discs (ET) and the total wheel diameter is larger than it should be installed on my Mercedes SLK.
As a result, with spacers, the wheels from E-klass, got on the SLK-klass and do not even cling to anything.
