Hey man would this be the same issue for a 2010 E350 ? Recently replaced the window regulator pm the car and now it acts like the car in this video. Prior to the replacement the car was working just fine and key fob still unlocks and locks car. Posted a video on my page so you could take a look

DOES THIS KEY FIT A MERCEDES BENZ CLC 200 CDI 2010 PLEASE? DOES THIS KEY CHECK IF IGNITION SWITCH IS OK? AS IVE JUST HAD ONE FITTED RECENTLY. IF SO? HOW MUCH IS THIS KEY PLEASE & WHERE IS IT AVAILABLE FROM?

I was having the same problem and I Just cleaned my key fob with rubbing alcohol and I also cleaned where the key fits into the ignition and my car started. So, it appears that sometimes it may just be a dirty key fob.

Just check the cables from the relay to the key fuse inside the car, just moved the cables and car start again ( check the contacr in between cables and fuse) 2 red cables.

I have a 08 c300 doing the same thing so should i buy a replacement key & have it programmed before i tear out the steering column?

That’s an interesting one. Key or switch. I’d have replaced the key, it being the cheaper item

@@eurowerx4267 I’ve done that a couple of times and it works and then doesn’t work now it doesn’t fully work. Waiting for ignition starter relay switch too come.

After work last night and today driving to work start on first attempt so not sure why it was happening 2x yesterday hopefully it’s good 👍 I have cover over my key fob that might be the reason as well maybe the connection was bad .

Hey I have a 2009 c300, my key works to unlock/lock car, but when I put it in the ignition it says “take key out of ignition” any idea on what I should do?

Have you got a second key? That sounds like a key but it helps to be able to see actual values with a scan tool

Autel im608 The Xhorse tool works better though, easier. Im508 is a cheap alternative for DIY folks

What device are you using to wake up the eis and tells you key was not valid

No need to wake it up. eis is always able to communicate and see actual values

My key won’t open trunk or unlock the doors but my car will read it and unlock and lock the steering wheel it makes the zip noise when I put it in however it won’t crank all lights come on the dash but it won’t crank could this be the key ?

Did they both fail at the same time or have the locks not been working with the key? Test the purple wire at the left front SAM for voltage when attempting to start, that will allow you to know if the key has drive authorization

@@eurowerx4267 I haven’t been able to unlock or lock for a while the no starting issue is new I tried to bypass the relay and it started cracking but it didn’t start I’m debating weather it needs a new key or maybe even a starter

@@Dashikardashian the hoop just react to the presence of voltage. It lets me know the EIS is awake and responding. Try bmw CAS tester on eBay

@@eurowerx4267 Thank you bro ! My car been down for some time now. It’s annoying because I know it’s not a big problem, I knew it was something with the key after the fact I was driving with two keys for a week straight then ended up separating the keys, now either of them work 🤷‍♀️

mind was the esl lucky it was off when it went saves time put the key every thing was dead nothing new esl in and green key from the main dealers e250 2011 reg before that cam chain went nosiey start up from cold chain and phases replaced

I have a 2007 Mercedes CLK350 I Got a Brand New Key Program from the dealership Mercedes the doors unlock the lights blink the trunk opens but it won't move out of position one and the steering wheel is locked, I'm also getting a message key is being programmed please wait I've asked a lot of people nobody knows what that means Mercedes says the key does not have any further programming so I'm just stuck at this point what else could I do what's going on and why that message key being programmed please wait

Leave the key in until that message goes away. The red led may also stay lit until it’s programmed. You may need a lock though

@@eurowerx4267 yeah I left it overnight still nothing? How long could this possibly take? I don't see any red light. What do you mean by I may need a lock? And why are we getting this message on a Brand New Key from Mercedes? Thanks!

If I don’t have a scanner is there another way to tell if it’s just a bad key or if it’s the ignition switch? I literally just bought New starter for $500 just for the mechanic to put it in and tell me it’s not the starter

Damn. Scanner is a must. It could be the key or the ignition switch if you have a second key maybe from another vehicle, if you insert it and you get no response in the cluster like wrong key, all you’ve really done is reduce yourself down to a key or an ignition switch. You’re gonna need a scanner

I have the exact same issue as you, key won’t respond to car but when I put in someone else’s key in it responds & lets me know it does not belong the vehicle. For reference I have already fixed the steering wheel lock culms once. But I’m being told it’s steering wheel lock again. What do you think ?

If you pull fault codes, the lock will set faults. Sounds like a steering lock though
