Mercedes Injector Replacement, A Class rough running , engine misfiring , w176 A180 ! FIXED !

Mercedes A class w176 A180 came into us with rough running, engine misfiring. Diagnosed a faulty diesel injector by measuring the internal resistance. New injector purchased through Renault half the price of a Mercedes injector.

Hi Christopher, i'm pretty sure these are piezo injectors according to the mercedes workshop manual. I haven't tested them on my scope to be sure though.

Hi could you advise me what to do next. I had injector 1 fault/ misfire replace injector 1 with new injector coded all ok. A month later same fault accures. Any help appreciate

Brand new injector from mercedes. Fault coming back and relates to cylinder one. Which was the current issue previously

Have they checked the injector itself to see if its a faulty unit? Mercedes parts come with a 2 year warranty @@davel2049

Not yet. I will do a resistance check on the new one. AA has came out and scanner it getting p020125 injector cylinder 1 error message improbable P020129 injector cylinder 1 no signal. Would this relate to wiring issue

AA have given the wrong info. It's cylinder 4. PO20129 fuel injector 4 has electrical fault or an open circuit stored fault Po20125 cylinder 4 has electrical fault open circuit. There is a fault signal wave active and stored fault. Would you advise fuel injectors to be tested and clean. All injectors showing around 148 ohms. Injector one brand new one around 160 ohms

Is this the same engine as the 1.5 diesel in the b180 got the same issue.

@@phil8148 it will run with out coding but to ensure the correct fuel quantity at the right time for the engine is achieved it will need coding in 👍

I've just had my #1 injector fail , and now #2 has gone a week later I'm starting to think it's not injector related but the code on obd says it is

You will often find the injector will fail and the one next to it compensates for it, often leading to failure shortly after

@@godfreysautomotiveservices - so are you saying I've to replace #3 #4 also , thing is even when I had #1 replaced the car was still kicking out black smoke upon hard acceleration and smells of diesel on idle ( amg 220d w176 )

@@novasigma5964 if yours in a 220 I’m assuming it’s fitted with the 651 engine? If so I’d advise to get all injectors bench tested bud

@@godfreysautomotiveservices - thnx I will , can I ask what the code location is for coding the injector , my cars injectors are delphi and from the top of the head has a 6 digit code then 8 & 13 - 2x QR codes then 10 , 10 & The OEN number
