I also have a GLE and I have the same effect, the mechanics lubricated everything, there is no play anywhere and that fucking mouse on the driver's side is squeaking. It's some kind of defect in these Mercedes, they should fix it for free or the console will give them the money for the repair because they put those bumps everywhere that destroy the suspensions.

When I had mine it had already had an engine replacement under warrenty previous owner my ownership I was onto my second engine after p4 went second engine I uprated the fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator with larger injectors and had Cylinder 4 slightly richer than the rest when I got it mapped p4 never went pop up to 280hp with a k04. Then I forged and hybrid ko4 went up to 300hp ran like a dream shame the m32 gearboxes are chocolate.

Bring back the ratchet type tensioner. As you rotate the crank you can see the poxy tensioner retracting back into itself. Its becoming a throw away society, 100,000K and send it to the scrap yard!

Hi, I think I have a similar issue which no one can diagnose, I’ve changed sparks, coil and injectors but cylinder 3 keeps miss firing but only when the cars warm/ hot id say approx 20/30 mins in to a journey but when the miss fire happens then it renders the vehicle un drivable so atm I’ve only been using it for really short trips would you say this is the same please advise

You make it look so easy, I bought an LR Towbar and all the additional parts, can't get anyone to fit it. LR will only fit their own supplied towbar.

turning an engine backwards is no way to gauge chain wear. These engines need an oil flush and fresh oil every 6k from new ,,, long service intervals kill modern engines.

Nice job! When I first read years ago that the timing chain was on the back of the engine I had to look to make sure it wasn't April the 1st... I hope you're charging good money for this job mate, I'm seeing everything from 1500GBP to 4000GBP (dealers) with most places settling in the middle somewhere. It's hell of an involved job and not without risk, so you've got to make it worth your while. I know for a fact that loads of places are saying "nope, not interested"... There must be getting on for 2 million Ingeniums out there now, don't know how many are diesels, but I think it's safe to say this won't be the last one you get asked to do lol! 🙂

I spent just shy of $4.5k to repair/replace the timing chain at 70k kilometres. So disappointed the dealer didn’t identify it. Oil change interval way too long. 32k or 2 years. The repairer recommended oil changes at 6 month intervals… quite a difference. Even though I love the car I am so Disappointed in the product.😕
