What am I talking about?
My topic is the KE-Jetronic injection system which I try to demystify as much as I can.
For all of you to understand the system in brief - Developed in 1973 and being mounted into cars up to 1993 as it went in history. But why these to letters!?(KE) K(from German "kontinuierliche Einspritzung" meaning continuos injection, without interruption) the MECHANICAL injection system on which the fuel starts flowing from the fuel tank sucked by the FUEL PUMP and delivered to the FUEL DISTRIBUTOR which sends fuel to the INJECTORS while the majority of it flows through the FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR through its return line back to the fuel tank again. The letter E(elektronische Gemischanpassung/electronically controlled mixture adaptation) has to mark the electronic sensors (the developement starting from early eighties) which had to inform the ECU about the current state of the engine so that the ECU(Electronic Control Unit) then could create current signal in mA(miliampers) and send it to four crucial components for the system - the EHA(the electro-hydraulic actuator, a unit consisting of a magnet, an electromagnet and a baffle plate) which had to fine tune the engine in each of its phases, the ICV(the idle control valve), the unit which was predicted for the engines perfect idle, the X11(the diagnostic socket) where the duty cycle(the ideal mixture) was adjusted and the X11/4(the code reader) - the socket which from any codes were read if present using an OBD1 scanner.
An extraordinary injection system which could be fully repaired in your own garage using a multimeter and a pressure gauge only for its fine tuning, together with some common tools.

I have checked all the system and indicatios are good, with an old machine....co is fine.....but the problem with cold start persist......

Thanks a lot. Well...if the problems persist - check the ovp, the wires towards it, watch my video about the mechanical part of the system and check all the wires towards the coolant temperature sensor, cold start valve as well. Sometimes the sensor can be good, but the wires bad.

Salem aleykum! Hello, my man and greetings from Serbia. Thanks for following the channel. Concerning your question, if you have the system on your car after 1988 there is not much you can do. That depends of the ICV whether it's with 2 or 3 pins. IF it is with 3 then you can adjust manually the RPMs on idle, if it's with 2 contacts, then there is nothing you can do, the ECU adjusts then automatically. The precondition for a good idle is a good working potentiometer, the lambda probe, no vacuum leaks and good sensors as well as the whole mechanical part of the system to be good working. @@mercedeske Thank you. I changed everything and I am still suffering from the same problem. I bought a complete M103 engine worth 11,000 US dollars. It has traveled 300,000 kilometers and is still suffering. I changed the ECU more than 5 units and no change occurred. I changed the ovp and no change occurred. I am looking for a way to manual it. To raise the number of engine revolutions at idle, 1991 W124 M103 model

My pleasure, No, the fuel pump must work for 1 second on the ignition on and stop. There is somewhere open circuit in the fuel pump relay then. Because the fuel pump relay runs the fuel pump. Try to remove the fuel pump relay and to turn the ignition on. The fuel pump has to work for 1 second and then stop.

@@mercedeske whiteout the relay, the fuel pump doesn't turn on. Is it a bad relay? How does the pump know when to stop? Is there a pressure sensor somewhere?

@@soyeltiolucas The relay determines that - it connects the contacts 87&30 - 87 is the positive from the fuel pump, 30 is the main power supply.
