You are a blessing! This was my EXACT problem and after applying this fix, the car started right up. Thank you so much!! I should note that AutoZone nor O'Reilly (in CO) had the fuse. I had to order it online from Amazon and then the holes on the fuses were too small so I had to use a drill bit to open up the hole a bit but after that, it worked like a charm. I really appreciate you posting this!

Thank you for posting this! Me and my dad are selling an 06 r350 for someone and I accidentally jumpstarted it incorrectly and the same problem happened. We charged the battery because it was at 9 volts, it didnt fix the problem. We disconnected the battery for 5 hours, also didnt fix it. So then i told my dad about your video and then I took off the positive jump point and low behold, it was the fuse. If it wasn't for me stumbling upon your video, this car probably would be at the junkyard by now. So again, thank you for posting this video.

Thats a hard fault, my E class is intermittent started two day back, christmas eve i thought i was going to be stuck in a car park, went for a 5 min walk came back engine started and selected drive ok, so far its done it twice, i will however bear in mind what you have mentioned here, my thanks Cheshire UK

Dude, I have tried everything. I've literally even pulled every single fuse in this car and checked it. I think this might be it because it happened after the tow truck driver tried to jump it. If this is it, I need your cash app to send you 20 bucks. 🤣

Can while driving it with a short with all the warnings coming on shutting it off and back on to the point where there is no start still be the fuse, or mostly the transmission module got cooked? Reason I am asking this is because I am thinking if that fuse is in there to blow when all this happens and protect anything else……

It doesn’t hurt to check the fuse first before spending over 1k in a trans module.

Ill have to look on mine,it wont statrt unless i do a transmission reset then it may or maynot start but even if it starts it will not shift out of park..also says sos visit workshop & beeping

Correct. Most likely you already have an issue with the module itself. Not a fuse issue

Is it required to remove the fuses to test if they are open or can they be tested installed? I have tested my fuses installed and they show they are ok.

Its just a quik 10mm nut to remove. I would remove it and on the other side you will clearly see if the fuse is burned or still good.

If you remove the fuse it will clearly show if its burnt. But you have to remove it

Sir, please help me. My R class 06 model, sometimes runs smoothly, but occasionally it won't shift grear from D to R and vice versa, but can shift from nuetral to the gear that it is stuck in. I have to restart the car and then change to the preferred grear, then it will move. Then when I don't expect I would notice the hears have all started working fine. Recently, I removed my battery head to work on the car, when I finished and the started the car, the problem reoccured. For now it is driving smoothly, but I don't know when next it will happen, I am worried it may leave me stranded at a critical point.When I ran a computer check, it indicated VGS but a friend advised that it may not be the fault. This is because when the gears fault begins, my car horn also shuts off and doesn't work, when gear fault starts working smoothly, I also noticed the horn starts working too. Any ideas?

It sounds like you might have a grounding issue or a short somewere. Check your wiring on the ISM its the ecu next to the tranamission. Check the connections. And also make sure your battery is good. Have it tested. Sometimes this cars car get low voltage and start activating faults. And you have to reset it to make sure the fault code doesnt come back. I would start by having the battery tested, and inspect the wiring on the ISM.

@@gideonopu9561 Hi I have a 2010 Gl450 had the same issue and he’s right, I changed the battery and it started working just fine. Been driving it for 2 weeks, no problem.

They have them online. Amazone and also ive seen some at autozone. But each place is diff.

I dont think so. Your issue is most likely the linkage or the ism. Unless you already were experiencing transmission issues.

Its called a 100 amp fuse they have some over the counter but not all autozones sell them. Usually used also for audio. You can order online or from a car audio store they are cheap

You could also type in "100 amp AMI fuse" on amazon or google and see options to buy for like 10dls.

I got mines from my local junk yard. But any marine store sells them those fuses are used on electrical system in boats. And autozone also sells them.

Checa la caja de fusibles que esta hay donde va la pila. Tienes k quitarla de la pared es una cajita negra lleva fusibles tmb si la habres tiene unos de 100amps y de 150 amps. Esos truenan y ya no manda corriente a las otras cajas de fusibles de enfrente. Oh si tienes un tester puedes verificar corriente. De hay manda la corriente a varios modulos incluso alternador.

It is a stud mount fuse. You can find them at some Orileys or also online.

Yes its safer that you do disconect the battery. Atleast 1 terminal. It is located under the passender front seat

They are usually next to the battery under the hood. Passenger side by the rear of the fender

Theres a yellos fuse thats usually the one that blows when its jump started the wrong way.

Also on the rear main battery there is a black box with wires there is more fuses inside there that could had gone bad.

I actually went to my local junk yard and took one from another r350. Replaced it and that was it. But i believe autozone also sells them. Just bring the old one so they can see what kind of fuse it it. Also marine stores have them. Those fuses are used on boats and other water electrical systems

Ocupas herramienta para sacarlo a pression. Y pressionar el nuevo. Yo la vrd mejor cambio el hub completo con espiga. Sale barato tmb en ebay amazon. Y no batallas.

If it starts up then most likely its not that fuse. Its gona probably be your Icm the module that is mounted next to the transmission.

Yes completly gone and benz starts no problems. The people at the auction jump started the car wrong causing that fuse to blow.

I ended up having to take the car to the dealer 1 Mercedes dealer try to overcharge me $500 1900 went to another dealer for 1400 I still ended up having to pay a towing fee from someone Mercedes dealer to the next one. Mercedes did the first Towing for me free if I had taken it to the right dealer the first time would have saved me a lot of money be sure to get a idea estimate before Towing to the dealer if they don't give you one don't go there maybe they try to overcharge me because of the free Towing

It pops off with a flat head has clips on the side. But you have to remove the therminal post on top

I dont think its that difficult to do so. Most people were able to remove it just by following the instructions i mentioned. Its not that complex.

Ive had about 4 of them fixed from clients where they took their car to a mechanic and diagnostic was ISM at fault. And i replaced their fuse and boom. Solved. Save about $$1k its something so simple and worth cheking first before spending soo much money.
