That’s pretty sweet. Here’s my real world experience: 170 with 4x4 is great for getting out of the occasional tough spot. Driving I’m snow and ice.. and not letting a little sand or mud ruin your trip. The overhang however is a limitation. And raising the long wheel base 4-6 inches makes for a unpleasant freeway experience . The 144 wheel base with 4x4 has close to a true off road capability. I’m not saying that I’d take it on any extreme off-road adventure. But yeah, it’s very capable. But when you get the under 20 footer (144), you are now more confined with storage and usable inside space. It’s a real trade off .

Nice, 😁, but my stock dodge road trek could have handled this terrain no problem. This is a Awsome ride though.

Hi Guys! Nice video, thank you for sharing with us! At the moment I'm working on my dream van build project and planning to start a Van Life) As the main wheelbase for my purposes of full-time living in the van I think I will go for the same 4x4 MB Sprinter 170 wheelbase. I think it will be the bast in regard of space and still being off-road capable, would love to fit everything inside the 144, but…I don't really think that it is feasible) I can not afford myself to buy a brand new rig and most probably will have to get a secondhand Sprinter from 3-5 years old max. Could you please help me and give an advice where in Germany I could find a really nice Sprinter? Thank you in advance!
