Mercedes Squeaking Noise FIX , C class E Class S Class GLC GLE GLS

If you have a Mercedes C class, E class , GLC GLE GLS or S class and experience a squeaking noise from the front when turning or going over a bump it will require new spring links 🙂. Replaced the lower control arm and it fixed the squeak noise. There is however a creaking or some sort of clunk that I can hear when steering and when going over bumps, any idea what this could be ?

Thank you for the video, as I just found it recently on my c class when turning. Could you advice if it is a safety issue that must be rectified asap? Or it’s okay to leave it for another year or so, if I don’t mind the squeaky sound? Thanks!

I’ve never seen one fail to the extend of it being a safety issue as yet. Normally find slight play in the ball joint but noting excessive.

Exactly my thought. My C300 just had the moonroof quit working 5k miles after the warranty. I was baffled by the amount of fragile plastics that crackled in pieces all over the mechanism.

Yes, a regular Jack would be fine. Removing the undertray will help you gain access to the bolt alot easier 👍

hey man I get a pretty bad squeek on my c300 2015 whenever I accelerate past 25MpH+… When i’m not accelerating as fast or braking the squeek disappears. Any thoughts?

There was a issue with the boot on the bottom on the steering column if I remember right. May be worth looking into 👍

I have a similar issue where it squeaks badly whilst turning but no noise when pushing down on the wings. I spoke to my mechanic that added some grease the joints helped for about a week and now its worse than ever. Do I just need to replace the lower arm?

Great video. I have the same issue but the car has just passed the MOT with no advisories and I've had a mechanic look at it and he said the sound is coming from the lower control arm but he can't see any play. Should I still replace it?

Personally I would replace it just to stop the noise. But if there’s no play in the ball joint and passed the mot ok there’s no reason to replace it if you didn’t want too.

@@wodenuk6700 that would be about right with the wheel alignment I would say. There is no adjustment on the lower arm so you should get away with out any adjustments afterwards if you was to tackle it yourself 👍

@@godfreysautomotiveservices I think steel , but there is 1 angles sensor on a each side and it’s right up now I have asked someone mechanic and he said it need to be calibrated for like one hour

@@didar389 I’m not too sure why it would be higher if on steel. The front level sensors would just be for the headlamps I’m sure. Was the suspension arms identical to the old ones?

Lower suspension arm or spring link arm. Various different names for this component

From memory we charge about £200 per side for a aftermarket suspension arm fitted. Hope this helps 👍

You have a full warranty for all mechanical parts for up to 3 years, they have to do it for free.

I also have a GLE and I have the same effect, the mechanics lubricated everything, there is no play anywhere and that fucking mouse on the driver's side is squeaking. It's some kind of defect in these Mercedes, they should fix it for free or the console will give them the money for the repair because they put those bumps everywhere that destroy the suspensions.
