The only late 60s - early 70s Mercury missing is a Montego wagon with a big block. The Falcon was fascinating, the last generation is so obscure I only learned about its existence recently. 😁

Top 5 muscle car for me. I wanted to purchase a 68 bl/bl with a 410 back in 1987. Original owner wanted like $4k. I was 17 and only had about half that.

I'm in heaven watching this! What a stunning collection. I've owned nine different Torinos and Cyclones in my day. Always wish I would have kept my 70 Montego MX with the hideaways and 71 Grabber Blue Cobra. This collection illustrates the brief period when designers designed cars for design's sake.

Wow wow wow !!! I am SOoooo envious !! What an amazing collection !! A buddy of mine across the street from me, his dad had 2 '70 Cyclone Spoiler GT's with 351 Clevelands. One was black on black, and the other was gold with a black interior. I remember his dad telling me that if I ever saw one of these cars sitting anywhere to tell him ! I vividly remember when he got the gold one, him taking the center grille target/bullseye OUT and putting in a standard Montego one cuz they were SO rare, and if broken, you're hooped ! Both the cars had Montego center grilles, with the unbroken correct ones in boxes. His love of Cyclones led me to buying one that I had found on a used car lot. I ended up with a '67 Cyclone 289 2v a/t dark green tan interior car. Sadly, it being nothing overly rare or collectible, I drove it for a number of years and sold it to a guy that I ended up running into a good 20ish years later. He was a bodyman and had restored the car, but he had painted the car hugger orange !! I was like .... BLECH !! Wrong colour for that car ! He apparently sold it to another guy, and last I heard, it was somewhere in Alberta, Canada. I had another buddy that had a '69 Cougar convertible with a 428 SCJ a/t, black on black. No idea what ever became of that car ! That '70 1/2 Falcon tho ! I never even knew those existed !! I thought I was pretty up on my old Ford stuff ... I guess not so much ! This is the first of the 4 videos in this series I have watched, now I gotta watch all the rest !! What an absolutely amazing collection of some of finest examples !!

My dad was a huge cougar guy. He graduated hs in 67 and bought that exact black on black 427fe cougar when he graduated. Over the years he owned I believe ten at one time. All 427’s and 428cj’s. I remember as a kid we’d go to New England dragway with my godfather who was into the cutlasses. He had em all w30’s 442’s etc and I remember when my dad pulled up in his 67 xr7 E model and my godfather in his 69 w30 every one at the track shaking their heads saying we might as well go home now because nobody can touch these cars. So many good times at New England drag with my dad.

The Colony Park wagon is a fantastic piece. I do not remember ever seeing a wagon with a vinyl top. I never cared for the wood grain sides, but that is the most attractive cladding I’ve seen. My folks a two year old 75 Montego Villiager and one side was faded, probably due to how it was parked in relation to the hot sun. I had a 71 Cougar XR7 with a 352C 2V/ FMX. It had been rode pretty hard when I bought it, and I rode it hard myself. The 71s were not bad drivers.

My first car was a 1967 Cougar back in the late 80’s. In those days, I rarely seen any big block Cougars. I appreciate this fine collection. You save the best for last, 70 1/2 Falcon, my personal favorite. Thanks Evan for this series keep it coming but please give the camera person some time to salivate over these cars😂 we as viewers can definitely benefit from that.

Yeah I would love to have a 67 cougar with red interior and black on the outside. With manual shift. I had a 94 Thunderbird that was white with gray interior and it had the positive traction rear end and the 5.0 engine with interceptor transmission. It was an awesome car even though I love the older models more. It was in awesome shape with low miles so I couldn't pass on what a beast of a car it turned out to be. My older sister bought it from me and she had to call me to tell me she couldn't handle the power in the car when she hit the gas the first time she drove it she almost spun out and went into the ditch😂

My first car was 67 4 spd 289 in 84 , i was born in 67 . Great car In perfect refreshed mechanical order . Fresh lightl blue metallic blue , NO Powe4 steering which I loved , No power brakes , wind up windows, No Ac but original owner optioned 4 spd which was rare on 289 2 brll . But being a No option base car except 4 spd with BF Goodrich tires after I got it was not a real muscle car but pulled nicely being a lightweight stripper with a fresh perfect running 289 , spanked all the tired 318 and 307 auto cars most kids were driving and strong for an engine rated at 200Hp . Just a perfect working car with great little engine that looked great for 2500.00 . Had some bondo under fresh paint but perfect interior .

That's the Holy Grail Cougar ....had a pal who's boss had a 7 Liter GT-E in the mid 70's. He replaced the heads and cam with over the counter Medium Riser pieces, so it wasn't the de-tuned 427 the factory installed anymore. It was HOT 🔥

The 1968 427 in the Cougar was effectively a '64 Low Riser in a hydraulic lifter-drilled 427 Side Oiler block, equipped with a 390 GT cam, lifters, pushrods and rocker arms. While it was equipped with an aluminum 428 Police Interceptor intake manifold, it was "strangled" by a 600 cfm Holley carb and a 390 GT exhaust system with its restrictive exhaust manifolds and 2" pipes, though it had those "neat" GT-E tailpipe tips. And placing 427 Medium Riser heads on this engine effectively lowered the compression, as the MR had domed pistons, while the GT-E had the 1963-64 style "bumper-equipped" flat top pistons.

@@johnjohnsn7633 You're right about all that....I think the 427 used the same heads as the Cobra Jet. The owner of the car owned the Chevron station in town and his brother was a mechanic at the Ford garage, so I'm sure they knew what they were doing. I know he swapped the iron exhaust for Hookers, but I was a teenager at the time, so most of the details went over my head.

Being a Ohioan, How have I not ever heard or know of George Conrad? In a way, Uncle Tony's garage sorta brought me here, while looking up the Aero Warriors reunions & stumbled into Granpa Cobra Jet Steve, can't recall his last name in Georgia, as a slight Mercury nut, w a '67 Cougar, '70 Cougar, x2'70 Cyclone GT's and a '72 Montego, strongly influenced by my Dad & Uncle who ardently followed The Wood Bros racing, alas I never able to acquire a '68+'69 Cyclone fadt back It'd be great to shoot the breeze w George, thanks for presenting this

Evan this collection is unbelievable I am nearly lost for words. We should be grateful that someone like George has the passion and wherewithal to make this happen. Wow just wow. What an honor it is to be able to view that collection with him like that. The Saskatchewan Torino made me chuckle. Growinup in Winnipeg during the 60s and 70s there was lots of these muscle cars around on every street. Some of them were oddballs too. My older brother owned the first 71 SCJ Mach 1 4 speed 430 gear Detroit locker drag pack car. I was with him when he bought it in the middle of winter in January 1972 or 73 I believe and it was at least minus 20 outside. He was the second owner. It had J78 studded whitewall snow tires on it when he bought it and yes it did get driven in a couple of winters back then but eventually got parked in the back yard at Grandma's house during the winter months. It saw a fair bit of street racing during it's life in Winnipeg. My brother let me use it for my Grad Parade in 1975. Those were the best of times!

There are nice collections all over, all brands, but that collection has to be one of the top Ford collections. I've always liked the 68-70's Cougars. My dad had a Green 68,69 Cougar.not sure of year, hideaway headlights. From very young to about 16, My mom had the new Ford every 5 yrs in the garage, my dad had all his work daily drjvers we maintained, I learned from 8 yrs old on. We always had all kinds of cars, my older brothers & sisters had. Families cars, and cars my dad had a few weeks at a time. My one brother bought a 70' Mach 1 Mustang brand new in 70' Grabber green, all the louvers, 4sp Hurst, 351 Cleveland.. that's my favorite one of many. I agree, Those Cougars will go way up more. I don't see many for sale at auctions yet. I think in the next 5 years, they'll be bringing Boss and Mach 1 money.

This brings me back to high school 1980-1984 I can’t believe my high school parking lot in Huntington Beach California Was full of 60’s & 70’s Muscle cars that got handed down from our parents . My family has always had fords and Course my first car was a 19 64 1/2 Ford Mustang handed down by my grandfather . Sadly I only had the car one year because it was T-bones at a four-way stop . Unfortunately I didn’t carry the tradition and I went off on a 20+ year Fascination with European cars mostly BMWs . Well that’s changed when the 2003 mustang cobra came out now the and I went back to my roots Since then I’ve been acquiring a nice collection of Ford mustangs

I once owned a 67 cougar for a week or two waiting for paper work to put plates on it but someone replaced the left inner panel on it and did not keep the serial number part and on cougars it is the only place to find said numbers so the guy had to give me back my money and that is my story of the one that got away that i still think about. I never sat in it and was so happy to have one finally and returned home almost 1800 km's (Canada) away just to wait and find out i was not getting it. Found a 65 4 speed convertible Mustang instead. It is next on my list to restore after my 69 440 Cuda gets off of the auto twirler. I really like this easy going laid back owners collection. I always joke to my friends if only i had Leno buck's but now i will have to include Conrad bucks to my list of collectors of classic cars. Wonder if he is willing to adopt a old boy in his family so i could borrow some of those car keys DAD?

I saw a thunderbird in the background. I owned two when I was younger, but was never able to get them on the road. Both big blocks, and both went like stink. Very sad I had to let them go.

The heater hose metal lines are absolutely reproduced. Right Stuff took my originals off of my 71 CJ Spoiler as a pattern and gave me a set of repos that are on the car now...

This was my fault (camera guy). I was videoing the heater hoses and he was talking about the oil cooler lines. I’m pretty sure the oil cooler lines aren’t reproduced yet but I could be wrong. I was trying to look at as much as I could for myself just as much as I was videoing the conversation going on.
