The beauty of the helix is when you run out of ammo at a charging boar with the small magazine you can remove the barrel without a tool and then throw the bolt head at the beast like a pommel of old.

Why dont you get a 5 round mag for it and have 6 rounds. otherwise by a machinegun

@@stefanh.5543 Sporters would like a higher mag capacity. I personally would love 10 - 15 round mags.

Hi just a quick question about the miroku shotguns what would be your preference for some sporting clays the mk38 trap or the mk60 I here some great reviews about both I'm currently using a grade 1 30" browning 325 sporter it's a lovely gun but very barrel heavy I'd love to get something a little better blanced
@tgsoutdoors5 жыл бұрын
for club level i would say the mk60 all day - balances brilliantly and very versatile. The Mk38 is a more serious machine, and although it will make you have to concentrate more - it will also give the best results.
@derekwolohan56065 жыл бұрын
The Gun Shop there is a grade 5 mk38 trap in a local gun dealer to me but has been rebored to 3/8 and 5/8 would that affect the gun in anyway as far as I know it's been done by teague the gun it's self it mint also a friend of mine is thinking of selling the mk60 that's why I'm inquiring about both
@tgsoutdoors5 жыл бұрын
has the MK38 trap's stock been sporterised or changed?
@derekwolohan56065 жыл бұрын
The Gun Shop no still all original I was just a bit concerned if the rebore would affect it in anyway or its value
@tgsoutdoors5 жыл бұрын
@@derekwolohan5606 it seems that rebores being such a popular mod have very little bearing on value. I would guess it is around £1700-1800?

I'd like to see someone make a rifle that married this action style with an AR type chassis.

Nice, but they should ditch that gigantic ball knob on the bolt. Throw a knurled cylinder on there instead.

Is it worth 3 times as much as a Maral?
@tgsoutdoors5 жыл бұрын
Difficult question - probably not if you are looking at this from a value for money/ practicality aspect. If we all purchased guns based on those aspects alone, nobody would have top end toys because they are usually hard to justify in a “if it 3 times better scenario”. However the helix is a superior rifle to the Maral - just not 3x so
@bback745 жыл бұрын
When choosing a system rifle I would take a Blaser over this. I actually did. 3 times.

It's funny how you close your eyes when cycling the action :) No offence! As to Helix, there are quite a few known problems with this rifle. Personally, I can't justify spending 3500 EUR on a plastic mass market gun (also considering it's production cost). If feels like "there less gun in it".
@swedish_steel78615 жыл бұрын
what are the known problems?
@darkazion5 жыл бұрын
@@swedish_steel7861 1. Opened trigger mechanism even with closed bolt 2. Center of impact changes when changing the barrel - there is a need to fire a rifle after taking out the barrel 3. Possibility of a discharge without the bolt head in place 4. Helix is VERY demanding to the ammunition - feeding problems with some ammunition 5. In case of wooden stock - extra care after hunts in humid conditions: the wood on helix increases in volume a lot. 6. Integrated weaver for optics - is quite outdated, leaves out other options for scope mounts 7. Alluminum system - lightweight, yes, but cheap, fast and easy to produce. Does not go in comparison with the steel metalworking in terms of manhours, durability. Therefore, the price for Helix is not just at all.
@swedish_steel78615 жыл бұрын
@@darkazion has any of these problems happen to you? or are you just some salty blaser fanboy who would hate to see someone buy a merkel? ive never heard a bad thing about them, only thing was the guys at my gun shop said you may have feeding issues if you repeat to fast, thats all. ive never seen a negative review on on one of these.
@darkazion5 жыл бұрын
@@swedish_steel7861 Well, now you have a negative review with reasons why :) Do feeding problems seem insignificant to you in a rifle? Look, afterall it's your decision which rifle to have, but let's be realistic and consider pros and cons.
@swedish_steel78615 жыл бұрын
@@darkazion ofc feeding issues are a big deal, though in my and the gun shops experience it seems like user error, as when i tried with dummy rounds i could not get it to fail. actuallyone person has told me not to get a helix, he told me to get a real rifle (strongly suggesting blaser) when i asked him why he disliked the merkel he just said "get a real straight pull" this was the same person who told me to vandalize a fully original husqvarna 1640 with a big fucking recoil pad, and claimed that a 30-06 kicks like a mule. So yeah, i have stigma against blaser and their owners.
