In memory of Merle Ellis, America's Best Known Butcher, shows how to use a pressure cooker to cook spare ribs that taste like they've been slow cooked for hours - but in only 30 minutes. I did not produce this but Merle was the host of "Cookin' USA" which I produced for TNN (The Nashville Network). He will be greatly missed. He was the best! Heaven will be eating well now.

Omg yes. I looked up how to cook baby back ribs in a pressure cooker and was annoyed that all the videos were done using the electric ones. I just bought my first pressure cooker and it's the original one. I'm so excited. But this video is 10 years old so guess that why he's not using the electric one.

Well done. I like the part where he says he picked pork spare ribs because they are cheaper. The whole reason I became a great cook is because I am cheap (frugal). I eat well for the price of fast food. And healthier

I bought a Miro stove top pressure cooker at a thrift shop. It appeared to be in new condition, still in the box but no instructions. I bought pork ribs and liquid smoke. You have covered everything I wanted to do and needed to know. Thank you so much.

I just made this with only one ingredient missing (didn't have mustard). The ribs were a different cut labeled "pork loin rib end, bone-in country style." For the cooking liquid, I used home-made turkey broth that I happened to have in the frig. I used a very old Mirro aluminum 6-qt pressure cooker set at 10 pounds of pressure. The resulting dish was fabulous: tender, juicy and delicious.

We tried this by altering the recipe based on what he had on stock, and we were amazed at the result! Nice juicy tender and delicious! Thanks for the recipe!

With some pressure cookers, if you allow it to cool on its own a vacuum will form and you won't be able to open it. If that happens, you just reheat the pressure cooker and cool it the quick way in the sink with cold water.

I really enjoyed your video. I was planning on buying an electric PC so that I can push a button and not deal with the thing on the stove and timing it. This I recipe is a keeper and I know how to cook ribs in my classic Presto PC which is great! I am a travel nurse and have to use an electric PC. Most extended stays ask you not to use a stove top model and that's ok since you set it and can walk away until your food is done.

I have about the same pc but i think mine is aluminum because it's not shiny like that. Love making ribs and pulled pork in the pc, that's my second method if i dont have time to put em on the smoker

Actually showing how to cook. How refreshingly quaint. Unlike the "cooking" shows these days. It's all about moving the camera around and not really showing you anything...just....movement.. The medium is the message! Millennials will hopefully regret how they contributed almost nothing to society
