bingo! for years now, every time I hear that song, my mind tells me Arthur would perfectly fit the lyrics of the female voice and Merlin nails it with the male lyrics. all Arthur sees are obstacles of class, social station and duties ruining their chances of having a happy life together and Merlin just casts it all aside. just perfect for an alternative universe.
