Girl on the car bonnet in the showroom gives a whole new meaning to the term dizzy blonde (no offense intended). Last time I went in the model village was about 20 years ago, still recognise some parts, though a lot is new to me. Great vlog.

Many many years ago Great Yarmouth had a fabrication yard that constructed offshore gas/oil platforms. I got sent up to Great Yarmouth to work there for a while. My employer booked me into the Carlton Hotel. During my stay the weather was atrocious & the curtains in the hotel were blowing inward at 45 degrees. It was freezing in the hotel. The best thing of my time was a visit to this model village which was absolutely brilliant even then. It's even better now. Thanks so much for this brilliant video (& all of your other videos).

Loved the video. At 16:05 the model of a woman being dunked into water is called a ducking stool. It was used to punish disorderly women and dishonest tradesmen; a way to humiliate the wayward. Before that it was also used to ascertain whether or not a suspect was a witch.

Don't quote me on this but I believe the seesaw over that hole of water was something to do with the punishment of unlawful women in times gone. It's called a cucking stool. There was one at Pulls Ferry in Norwich which is where they used to punish women. The main fixture still remains but the actual wooden beam and stool is no longer there. Keep up these great videos, as a local it's great to see things from a different perspective and there's plenty to learn along the way. Have a great day and congrats on 25k subscribers.

I've been to Merrivale Model Village, came here nearly 3 years ago for my 30th birthday. I took some footage and put it on KZfaq too. 10:08 Wow, I don't recall seeing the sensory garden on my visit either. Has this been added recently? Love the big wheel. 12:19-13:01 Oh dear, no Thomas this time? When I visited there, Thomas was sitting on the track at 13:00. Didn't really check out the arcade. We did visit the tearoom though. Even though I don't visit Great Yarmouth much now, I'd love to visit the Model Village again sometime.
