Hey Neil, thanks for all your info! I've been watching your videos over the last few months and they are a wealth of knowledge. We ended up pulling the trigger on a B2650 last night. Aside from the loader, we also got a tiller, land plane, and a set of pallet forks (with a multi implement rebate). Also had the 3rd function valve installed for later down the road. Another very good video. I am amazed at how well Neil explains the pros and cons with his videos. Growing up on a small farm and working part time at a Kubota dealer in my retirement years it appears to me that these videos are straight up and very much worth your time to study if you are planning any type of equipment purchase in the future. Some tractors have premium 3 pt hitches while economy hitches may need a quick hitch ( as long as currently owned equipment is quick hitch compatible). Just my opinion!

When I was checking into buying a tractor, I figured I'd want the 3rd function valve on the loader at some point, but the dealer said it could be added anytime and wouldn't recommend adding something like that to the financing...I think its less than $1,000 to have that 3rd function added including a few hours of labor....however, in my case I may never have it added later down the road because by then I usually have an empty wallet...so sometimes its a better idea to roll everything into that small monthly payment regardless of what the dealer recommends, they're not the one making your payment or buying that accessory/attachment/implement...so do what you want its your money and purchase of the equipment. Get what you really know you need up front while the dealer has the tractor. For me I have to borrow a truck and trailer to get it and the implements/attachments home after purchasing a new machine so it makes far more sense to get everything before I pickup the machine.

Long ago when I bought my original BX23, I did not add a roto-tiller to the package that was financed. Huge regret... A few thousand more on the plan would have made little difference, but later coming up with a few grand to buy a tiller was never in the works. Consider your work mission and FUTURE possibilities, and finance all together as one package.

This is my same thoughts as well...I've had this issue before with vehicles too. It seems like a savings at the time skipping a few accessories, then a while down the road you wish you had it and don't have that extra $$$ lying around to get it....for a tractor/implement/attachment purchase, it is definitely a sit down and do your homework very thoroughly before jumping into buying because all those implements and attachments add up very quickly, but if you are lucky enough to be able to get one of those 0% deals you would be money ahead to do so. Sometimes when you purchase implements/attachments up front you get $100 or so off for each additional implement you buy when you buy the tractor as part of a package deal....so it makes sense to buy what you really need up front, at least for me it makes a lot of sense where I may never have the money lying around in the future when I suddenly decide that one attachment would be so useful...yeah cool, well umm now what LOL. I was looking at the Kubota BX2680 as I'd use the extra HP for PTO implements I plan to use, but its just never worked out to be able to get one, and now this year refinancing the house to get my name on the mortgage and my mother's name off of it who passed away 3 years ago, has taken up even more money, so kick the can down the road even further on ever getting a tractor...and the 0% financing for those who qualify for that could have bought it with cash in the first place, the rest of us don't qualify for that, not even sure why they boast about it because the majority of people don't qualify.

The loaders on the BX, and B-Series tractors seem pretty easy to install and remove, not sure on the larger L, MX, and M series but yeah those small tractor/loader combos make not buying the loader a stupid move really, and when it comes to resell later, the loader is a huge selling point, even if you only use the loader a few times a year it'll pay for itself pretty quickly.

Good job as usual Neil, I would make one comment though. I bought a new GL4060 at Paris, Texas Kubota and I included the 3rd function with loader and grappler! I have found the grappler and the Land Pride mower to be my favorite accessories! I can't imagine tending to my 60 acres, debris, brush, etc., without those two accessories and Yes, I bought them with the initial tractor purchase and the Kubota zero whatever loan package! Love the L4060 and my Land Pride accessories (grappler, mower, front loader, 3 point quick hitch, tiller, hydraulic auger, box blade, and palate fork). Keep up the good work, I'm a new bee and you've taught me sooooo much! Thanks.

If you know what you are going to need... buying all at once is fine. You will often end up finding you bought something you'll never use... or that you need something you didn't expect to need. You're better off needing and not having than having and not needing, because you can buy it later.
@wildbill23c

That's why you need to really sit down and think about what you need and would use. Walk around your property and think of the chores you do or would do and base your implement/attachment needs on that rather than jumping up and blindly buying a bunch of stuff....also, think of some of the things you may only use once or twice a year and could possibly rent or borrow instead of purchasing to have sit around in your way all the time...think about storage solutions too, do you have space to store everything? If not why buy it, its additional clutter you'll be tripping over, kicking, running into, and cussing at every time you do.

If you have the money lying around next spring to install other accessories awesome, but many quickly realize down the road they aren't as rich as they thought they were and thus all those later plans of adding this or that never happens due to lack of spare $$$ lying around. @MessicksEquip 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, but it ties up your 3rd function circuit which most people want.
@Fraggr92
@Fraggr92 3 жыл бұрын
You can absolutely do it, for example you can have a manually operated diverter valve on your loader that toggles between 3rd function and actuating the locking pins. Of course you'd have to get out and operate this valve when you want to switch between your remotes and your locking pins, meaning that the benefit is negligable if you're switching between a lot of hydraulic implements. But if you have a lot of non-hydraulic implements that you need to switch between regularly then you could just leave the valve in locking-pin-mode and save yourself a lot of time and effort having to jump in and out of the tractor. There are of course 3rd function kits that are designed with multiple outputs specifically made for hydraulic locking pins, effectively giving you two buttons on your loader stick instead of one, but those tend to be a lot more expensive since they are more complex.

Hey Neil, is there any hope of a snow blower that can be mounted both front and rear in the future? I'd like to be able to keep the loader bucket on in winter and mount the blower at the rear on most days. but the rear mount option with a long driveway would be too hard on the neck when a heavy snowfall hits. Would be great if it Kubota could design a mounting bracket so it was interchangeable and could be front mounted for heavy storms, and rear mounted for spot duty the rest of the time! If you’re buying the tractor for personal use- NEVER finance. You want the bank to owe you money, not you owing the bank money. If it’s for a business go for the financing. If the business goes under you’re better protected financially. Especially if you have an LLC set up with silent partners and shadow owners or the business as a subsidiary of another business you own. That way you can keep the tractor even if the business goes under and then use it for personal use. Get creative! Remember that personal financing of consumer goods leads to the national debt. Consumer debt is killing this nation.

These two guys had net worth of about $20 million a piece from their work and from family inheritances. What they did before they claimed the lottery money was form a corporation with shadow owners and DBA’s. When the corporation they formed went to claim the money they didn’t have to really pay the lottery tax because their corporation got the corporate tax break. I do not know the fine nuances and particulars of how they avoided not paying the lottery money chunk that usually comes off of a winning. I’ve noticed however that people with money are very good with money and know how to put it to good use. More importantly- they know how to hide it while making more money.
