What a treat it is to see this video. Even aged 45 and long retired, Maradona still had all his skills and could easily control the midfield, provide assists and get himself in goal scoring positions too. This ability is why he will always be the best for me. Awesome. RIP Diego.

@@tiago4614 Hubo muchos mejores antes que él. Bochini, Alonso, Houseman, Sívori, Moreno, Onega, por dar unos ejemplos. Riquelme no tenía cabezazo ni pegada con derecha, tampoco pique corto explosivo y no convirtió muchos goles. Estás comparando genios mundiales contra un tipo que fue a Europa y fracasó, hasta Aimar hizo más que él allá, sacate vos la camiseta. Maradona fue goleador del torneo argentino un montón de veces, Messi ni hablar de lo que hizo en Barcelona; uno con 343 goles, el otro con más de 700, ¿y los querés comparar con Riquelme que no llegó ni a 150? Por favor, estás demente.

It's incredible the abilities of Maradona and Messi. What even makes it more incredible is the fact that they are from the same country. I was born in China, and 2022 World Cup is the 11th World Cup I watched on TV (1st one being 1982 when I barely knew Maradona, and his red card against Brazil). I became Maradona fan and in turn a die-hard fan of Argentina in 1986, and ever since - I have been unconditionally supporting Argentina for 36 years so far, and proudly so. Went through Italia '90 when I was in high school and became a Germany hater. When Batistuta emerged in 1993 Copa America I thought Argentina should have a decent chance in 1994 World Cup, and boy oh boy did FIFA kill Argentina's best team ever! I went through Argentina's fall to Netherlands in 1998 thanks to Bergkamp, and tasted Batistuta's tears in his swan song during 2002's group stage. Then, in 2006 - 2010 - 2014, three times in a row I witnessed my team fell on their archrival's sword in the knockout stage - which only added my hate toward Germany. Well, in 2018 I was so happy to see Germany got spanked by Koreans and felt it was like karma finally, but then there was Mbappe, and Parvard's instant classic. When Diego died two years ago, a part of me died too. I cried twice in my whole life when it comes to football: the first time was after 2014's final, and the 2nd time was when Maradona passed away......... Time flies, and here we go again. Tomorrow is 2022's World Cup final, against the same France team. Messi's last chance. If there is a football God, please give Argentina a World Cup. It is just long overdue.

I just realized this. At the end of the day. Maradona & Pele would or could outrank Messi in the GOAT RANKINGS. Someone once said, "there's a difference between the best players and the greatest players." Messi might be better(I don't really know) based on his style of play, his statistics and consistency but these guys achievements were greater. If only Messi won the world cup😪..of course it's unfair to Messi but life ain't fair. Have you ever seen in school those days when one scholar was slightly better than another scholar, then at the biggest of stage/competition, somehow the one who is better doesn't deliver while the other one does?

Los argentinos es cierto que son muchos descendientes de italianos pero eso no garantiza que por eso son buenos en el futbol ya son otros factores. Los brasileros es otro ejemplo donde creo yo salieron mucho más cracks y ahí hay más mezcla de razas. El Perú de México 70 tenía buen biotipo aparte que había cracks

habia hecho un mundial sub 20 extremadamente bueno , pero hay algo que muchos no cuentan, Messi ya era algo conocido , pero no tanto , el tema fue que la seleccion mayor venia de volver a perder la copa confederaciones con Brasil ,y tal cual como le paso a Messi despues el periodismo se canso de tirar mierda, y justo paso el mundial sub 20 , donde un messi tuvo un nivel tan excelente que se lo comparo con Maradona, y Messi no defraudo le gano en el sub 20 a Brasil , cosa que la mayor no podia, entonces se le dio mas "bola" y enfoque , y toda la gente enojada decia "el que tiene que jugar es el pibe Messi" , es mas fue casi una campaña y por eso mismo despues Pekerman lo llevaria al mundial, obviamente messi habia demostrado el nivel , pero el tema periodistico tambien era fuerte y con razon , ese mundial sub 20 fue muy seguido en Argentina , y es por eso que Messi era ya al menos en Argentina , una estrella , despues .... hizo lo que hizo , y al menos para mi se convirtio en el mejor de la historia

He was the goat of his time, inspiration and life model for so many people. Including my father who is now 60, and is one of his biggest fans. He actually look like him a lot. Maradona has that magic spark in him, you always get on your feet when he possesses the ball. Absolute legend of a player, I bet he smiles right now seeying Messi got the trophy, finally. Messi continued his legacy, that's magic
